I posted previously on this subject. It was likely in a thread concerning the buying, or acquisition of enema/douche equipment. We guys generally have a reputation to uphold. It wouldn't be "macho" for one of us to be discovered buying enema related items. That's why we seem to be overly embarrassed.
Additionally, we are likely expected to put up a fuss at the prospect of getting "hosed". That includes at home or in the hospital or clinic. We keep our enjoyment of this simple procedure pretty well hidden. This probably contributed to many lost opportunities in our past.
Women, on the other hand, having been the de facto caregivers for kids, themselves, and certainly for us hardheaded egotistical guys, engaged with relative impunity. Even if we secretly enjoyed, or tolerated such procedures in the safety of our own bathroom, there was still an unwritten expectation to resist such things as unmanly.
The women could purchase, and certainly possess those wonderful rubber implements, without concern of ridicule. They might even be held in high esteem, as was my mom to the neighbors and relatives, with her knowledge of the finer points of health and hygiene. Even if the sexual attraction was discrete, there were many good excuses for a good enema.
I certainly hold all of you in "high esteem" who appreciate those simple pleasures and keep this simple procedure available. Even if the prospects of sharing such fun, are fading.
