I had an ultrasound once. I woke up one morning to feel a tender and painful growth on one of my testicles, I left it a few days thinking it would disappear. However it didn't, so I went to my GP, she examined it after I carefully shrouded myself carefully so she could only examine that area. Which she did, she then stated an ultrasound would have to be done to investigate, as in all medical issues I read as much on the symptoms and came to my own opinion that it was one of two things a varicocele or a hydrocele.
So thinking back I knew I had a friend, a girl friend who was an imaging specialist, I called her, as I only wanted her to do the scan. I called her up and she told me what paperwork I would need from my GP to get the scan done. So I got that done made an appointment and went to the imaging place, I wasn't nervous as me and her had frolicked around previously and she knew the lay of the land literally and my body.
I went in exposed the area, she was completely professional as always, we chatted and caught up, I told her my hunches about the condition, she scanned and affirmed professionally that based on her experience it was a hydrocele and not something to worry about, then there was a knock at the door and someone entered, I covered myself up immediately just in time. Then some middle aged officious woman came in, grabbed gloves and informed me she was going to inspect the area as she was the Chief Radiographer. I told her firmly, "You are not examining me at all and please leave". She then carried on putting on gloves, and said that the imaging tech cannot make a diagnosis, I told her I didn't care, and again told her that she would not be examining me at all, and that she needed to leave the room.
I explained to her, that I have rights to my body, and that I have the final word. She took off the gloves that she was now wearing and threw them in the container provided and stormed out. The girl doing my scan was saying, "Oh no, she's gonna be mad nowâ. I said I didn't care, I 'd already read up on how to get rid of a hydrocele using homeopathic methods, I wasn't going to any surgery or anything invasive unless absolutely necessary. So I got up, cleaned off the goo from my scan and left.
I went and bought Butchers Broom, Witch Hazel and Saw Palmetto. Within 5-6 days it was gone. I'll allow someone who knows me and trust to deal with me, but barging in unannounced and feeling you have a sense of power to do as you like, will never happen to me while I am in control.
