Men - ever seen your own semen under a microscope?

Did it numerous times as a teenager using a microscope.

I never got to see my own sperm but my late wife did. She was having the usual problems conceiving so her GP decided to do a post coital test. We were told to have sex after 10 pm and she had a 9 am appointment the next day. Her GP took a swab from her cervix and transferred the sample to a slide and she got to see my sperm swimming around happily under the microscope...

I brought my sperm sample to science class, in the 8th grade. Only one trusted classmate knew what I was looking at under the microscope. If the teacher only knew that I was thinking of her, when I masturbated.

Wow, I had no idea the cheap microscope I received for Christmas one year would be capable of that kind of resolution. Instead of looking at fibers and onion skin, I would have certainly studied my ejaculate. It is too late now living in a post vasectomy world.

No I have not.

No

I remember looking in my very early teens & not seeing anything. I didn't know I was looking at precum at the time... didn't even know what ejaculation meant. I was having wet dreams at the time, but didn't even know what was going on with those.

I did as a science nerd teen. They were pretty easy to resolve under the microscope my parents had bought me. In fact, I had bought a hemocytometer from a science supply house. This is a glass microscope slide engraved with very fine lines that, following directions, allowed one to do a count of blood cells, red and white, for clinical purposes. Prior to the advent of automated Coulter Counters this is how all blood counts were done and required a lab technician looking thru a microscope with a hand counter for each requested blood count. It was indeed very labor intensive. I had spent many hours hanging out at our local clinic lab watching the technician doing various tests including blood counts and eventually decided I needed to be able to do them myself at home. I quickly realized I could also do a sperm count on myself. And I instantly realized getting a semen sample from myself was way more pleasant than pricking my finger for a blood sample.

I was a lab assistant in college and provided a semen sample for the intro biology students. Decades later a girlfriend and I collected some semen so that she could look at it under my student-grade microscope. I had purchased the scope from an acquaintance who upgraded.

Yes, I got one of those Yo at home sperm count things, and it shows you a video of your sperm swimming around. Pretty cool, and I think I remember getting it on sale for less than a hundred bucks.

Yes, I have.

We have a fairly sophisticated microscope and one time my wife and I wanted to see if we could observe the little swimmers doing their thing.

Wow could we ever. It was amazing. Kind of a spiritual experience seeing all that potential life in the eyepiece. One healthy ejaculation could nearly repopulate the entire USA. (From a google search: An average human ejaculation contains between 40 million and 300 million sperm cells - The Open University). However, finding and fertilizing 300 million eggs is a different story.

The little guys were very busy, but seemed a bit confused, of course, not sensing a ready egg in the vicinity so they we all going everywhere without a common purpose. Obviously, we knew how to get the semen sample and I don't want to brag, but I provided it and prepared the slide with the coverslip. We did not know how to harvest an egg from my wife to see if we could get all the little fishies to swim in one direction.

I had to undergo some fertility tests when we were trying to conceive. At the doctor's office i was handed a specimen bottle and with help from my wife I provided a sample! (A whole other story). The doctor took the sample and a few minutes later he called us into the lab where we got to see the sample under a microscope.

I saw my semen under a microscope. It was fascinating to see all the seemen moving around.

Yes. It is fascinating. I looked at it when I was 14 or 15 y.o. with my new microscope. I was so happy with it.

Looks like i need a microscope for my exam room now!

The closest I was to seeing my semen under a microscope was when I was needing money in college and donated sperm for some kind of study . I remember one of the earlier times I gave the closed cup to one of the lab attendants at the desk and she asked if I would like to see what my sperm looked like under the microscope since my sperm had "great numbers and motility" noted in the file and I looked down at the notations and it also said "encourage to return". I became a bit embarrassed and red in the face after reading it, and I wish I had stayed and looked, but I decided it was too embarrassing and left.
