My two cents: Squirting is for sure NOT a myth or wives tale. My research has led me to beleive that there are a few factors at work.
First is the person...every lady is different. Some women prefer clitoral orgasms while some have a very sensitive g-spot. I dated a girl in 8th grade that soaked my hand everytime I tickled her love spot, but could care less about her clit. Ditto for the girl I lost my virginity to a few years later (couldn't find her clit and she didn't care- it was all about the g spot).
My wife, on the other hand, is all clit and very little g spot. She has yet to gush, but our theory is that as she ages (she is in her 20s) her g spot will devolop, and she will eventually squirt. Most real hard-core squirters I have seen in person tend to be older ladies that really know what they like.
Now, I was in the dungeon having sex with my wife once, and I saw a girlfriend of mine working this older lady with a special vibrator. This lady promptly sprayed all over the place like she was peeing, but it was not urine coming out. I asked her later that night, "can you get my lady to do that?" and she told me something that blew my mind:
Every so often, I will be having kick-ass sex with my wife, and she will have to stop because she feels like she is going to pee herself. We stop, she goes to the restroom, and nothing comes out. What this lady told us is that the feeling she had (the urge to unrinate) is the orgasm waiting to happen, and if she were to let go and ride out the feelings, she too would squirt. When we heard this, our jaws dropped because many times we had been at that point and thought I was poking her bladder or something.
If ladies can get past that mental block, and go with the feeling, they will orgasm and spray, but it takes trust, control, and follow through. Just my two cents.
