EnemaGuy4344,
Funny, and I wish I could be more original, but the Dr Bronners dilution rate I use on myself and others is just about the same; I measure out 1-tsp per quart. That dilution rate seems to be perfect—helps prevent cramping, gives a reasonable urgency to go (creating mild pressure on the prostate), and just plain smells nice. I like the Peppermint Castile flavor the best.
I get about the same results, which is why I use that amount. Very slight colon irritation more than saline, which feels like a little bit of enjoyable stimulation from the soap rather than real irritation. And just a few mild cramps sometimes without strong rectal urges to expel. I don't mind upper colon (rather than low, rectal) cramping so much and sometimes enjoy it. However, the really low rectal strong urges to push out the balloon and water have resulted in some occasional mishaps on the way to the commode, which I really detest. This is even with a DBC inflated, so I try for a satisfactory mix of mild irritation and cramping without the strong low rectal pushing urges.
Frank01:
I never use bar soap since I can't control the soap concentration at all well, so I can't address your question on that. 3TBSP of Castile liquid in 3 quarts of water is 3 tsp/quart, 2-3x the amount I use and described above. It would certainly be too irritating for me, but I've read of others here reportedly using that much. I'd use the minimum amount that produces the cramping you want. You can also produce more cramping by mixing lower concentrations of two or more substances, like Castile plus glycerin. Hopefully others here who use stronger solutions than me can advise you more. If you do use heavily cramping solutions, you might do your colon a favor by doing a water or saline rinse or two after your deep cramping enema.
As Moppys points out, too-concentrated soap or other things can be damaging to colonic mucosa. And, I've heard of patients requiring surgery or worse for colon damage from enemas, at least some which was reportedly from scalding from hot solutions. Have fun but be play safe.
