Now there was no doubt in Leah's mind that this would just be a regular physical. She'd probably be out of there in ten minutes with hardly any more physical contact than the nurse taking her blood pressure.

Dr. Crowler quickly looked in her eyes, ears, nose and mouth with a light and asked her to stick out her tongue to check the back of her throat. He spent five seconds feeling her thyroid gland for any swelling and was already getting his stethoscope ready to examine her heart and lungs.

He put his stethoscope over her shirt in the front and told her to breathe normally.

"Now take a deep breath for me," he said as he placed the stethoscope, over her shirt, on her back. Leah breathed in through her nose.

"You can do better than that," he said, "come on." Leah tried a few more deep breaths, and Dr. Crowler didn't comment.

"Alright, let's have you lay back," Dr. Crowler said. "I'm just going to examine your abdomen here." He pressed on Leah's abdomen, again, over her shirt, for about thirty seconds.

"Everything looks good," Dr. Crowler said. "Did you decide if you want your flu shot today?"

"Yeah, I'll go ahead and take it," Leah responded.

"Great, just wait here and the nurse will bring that in soon," the doctor said before walking out of the door in a hurry.
