Last week, I had to spend some time in the hospital. In preparation to go for an emergency MRI, I was asked to remove all my clothes, and put a gown on with the opening in the back, and then put another gown on “as a robe” (opening in the front). I asked the nurse “What if I don't care?” (about being possibly exposed in back), and she said i didn't have to put on the 2nd gown.
Though when the time came, I removed my clothes, got the 1st gown on but didn't tie it. She came in to help me, and actually put the 2nd gown on me too. As she did so, i whispered to her that I have no sense of modesty. I'm sure she had a decent shot of my backside. It was probably good she did put the 2nd gown on, as I went in a wheelchair to the MRI room, then had to scoot onto the MRI table (and back off eventually and back into the wheelchair).
After that, I was mostly in just the back open gown in a bed, then transferred from the bed to the op table, then transferred back onto another bed, then onto another bed. However much was tied in back or not, I was lifted and transferred to each.
The first day, as I got up to do a little walking, I was wide open in the back. I could feel the PT tying my gown as i got up and started going past my roomate, and out into the hall. No telling precisely how much of my backside my roomate or others in the hall could see. My male PT definitely got a good look.
On the 2nd day, a nurse came in to provide me with implements with which to bathe and a new gown to change into. I wanted her to first help me get up and get to the bathroom so i could make a bowel movement. So when I got up, there was no point in tying the back of my gown. She followed me to the bathroom. Then once in the bathroom, i bathed and changed into a new gown, and called her when I was ready. I made no attempt to tie any part of the new gown in back, and as i stepped out of the bathroom and turned to head back to the bed, the open doorway to my room was right there, so anyone walking or standing by would have had a good shot of my backside. I could feel the nurse tying my gown as i headed to the bed.
At home, I have had to sponge bathe in front of my kitchen sink. I set my cam on the window sill, to capture a shot of what you would see if you were standing on my neighbor's side stoop, looking in my window. I've shared it with a few friends so far. I'd attach it to this post if I could.
