Getting Aroused by Reading Medical Textbooks

Yes I do.. Earlier I used to like this a lot while there was no you-tube and I was younger.. These days not so much. However given that I love realistic medical examinations & surgery, some of the unusual positions used to examine patients, which I come across newly do excite me a lot

The Internet didn't exist back when I was a teenager, so medical textbooks was all I had to look up gynecological exams and physical exams. And turn me on those medical books did for sure!

Books when I was younger were the only way to "SEE" what many exam/procedures were all about.

Yes, but only one book which was about nursing and dealt with patient care and bedside manners and procedures with regard to Exams and stuff. 😃

Yes, as far back as I can remember I have enjoyed medical textbooks and still to this day seek them out. They were and still are big turn-ons for me. Even now it seems there is always something new to learn that could be incorporated into my play exams.

Glad I'm not the only one who used to do this! I'd read the puberty books and the like at school, a couple of them had line or more accurate drawings of the stages of puberty etc.

Vividly remember when I was 13 and discovered the family medical encyclopedia in my father's study, with information and even pictures about everything from colonoscopies and sigmoidoscopies, to barium enemas, digital rectal exams, suppositories, shots in the bottom, and even rectal temperatures. I think it's when I realized, even if I still couldn't really verbalize it, that I had a thing for bottoms, and that just thinking about the procedures I myself had experienced back there (rectal temperatures through age 9, a shot in the bottom at 8, my first rectal exam at 12) could arouse me.

Yeah I have a copy of Mosby's Guide to Physical Examination, Second Edition. I've got a lot of use out of it and it covers everything you wanted to know about learning to perform a physical exam. Highly recommend it.

My mother was a nurse. I used to love reading her textbooks when I was a teenager, for both academic and more fun reasons.

Yes, especially when they are explaining in detail how to perform examinations. I also enjoy reading the parts about bedside manner.

It all started around age 9 or 10 when I would constantly look up "blood pressure" in the encyclopedia. Every encyclopedia I could get I would look it up and look at the varying definitions and all of the images that came along with it.

When we first got internet when I was 11, I remember looking up "blood pressure" on wikipedia (not quite a textbook per se, but a damn good alternative). The computer was in the family room, but facing away from the TV, so those in the room weren't able to easily see. I got really quiet all of a sudden, and my dad asked me "What are you looking at over there kid?", then I got really nervous and closed it out, with the excuse "uhh.... nothing...."

When I was old enough to go to stores by myself, I often (and still do!) found myself in the medical/nursing section, reading the pages of the book, especially the sections on basic examination procedures and such. Ended up buying one or two of them. 😃

My Mom was a nurse, and I remember combing through her medical dictionary (starting when I was about 11) for pictures of all of the different "positions". I would strip naked and get in those positions in front of the full-length mirror. I remember being fascinated with the different views of my naked body, and still enjoy being naked in front of the mirror today.

I used to be aroused by medical texts when I was an adolescent. By the time I got to medical school they were just tedious. Familiarity breeds contempt I guess.

I had an aunt by marriage that was an RN. She had quite a collection of medical textbooks that I would snoop through whenever I had a chance to. My favorites were several pictures of enemas being given to patients in various positions. There was also some pictures of babies and young kids having their temperature taken rectally. Even though I was quite young they were a big turn on for me.

Ah, this brings back memories. I used to read nursing textbooks in my college library. In particular, the older textbooks which featured photographs of nurses in traditional uniforms performing various procedures. Even went as far as make some photocopies for "private study".

I shadowed my pediatrician for a day during highschool. After watching a few exams in the morning, the practice had a staff meeting and I was left alone in the doctor's office to eat lunch and browse books. I found one titled Adolescent Gynecology. Let's just say my teenage hormones were raging that day.

Yes when I was younger would love to go thru all my aunt's medical textbooks and look at the pictures, she was a nurse and loved reading them books and more the pictures of the different medical procedures and especially injections & rectal temps.

Yes, there was a time before the internet 😃 And medical textbooks, especially books like Bates' examination book were my source of information (and fascination) back then.

Echoing everyone else, I used to go to the library when I was a teenager, and go to the medical reference section and look at the books, then when I started going to to college, and looked at the medical books there. Since I live in south east Michigan, I would go to the University of Michigan and down to the Medical College of Ohio, and their libraries were loaded with awesome reference books. I'd go and sit in the library for hours reading and loving at all those exam and surgical procedure books. Now everything is more electronic, so finding the books now may be more of a challenge.

I've never really had access to medical textbooks, growing up in a time when most of this stuff would be digitalises. What I did have was a children's encyclopaedia where the volume on bodies have a very detailed account on puberty. I think I read that page more than the rest put together.

This was a big influence in my early medical fetish. In college I used to go to the library and look through all the medical and nursing training books(before internet was really good for such things). I loved the illustrations and pictures of patients and medical equipment. One time my room mate caught me in the library looking at a nursing book. I had to think of a quick excuse lol.

I can't say that I have becomed sexually aroused from reading medical textbooks and really cannot envisaged I ever would. I'm usually there for getting more information about conditions, presentation and possible treatments, so I expect I'm there for specific reasons.

I am not going to lie. My best friends mother was studding be a lab tech. So when I was over at their house I did often look at their medical books, and yes, at the naughty sections, lol. It was interesting to me but not so much I incorporated it into my dreams every night in a sexual manner, but may have used the into I gained to set up a dream in my head to be more medically appropriate and accurate. Those dreams are what made me horny, not the books themselves.

A number of years ago I was shopping at a local mall and Goodwill was holding a huge used book sale there that weekend. Everything was catergorized, so I headed for the medical section . It was one of the smaller sections but there were some interesting nursing textbooks there. I checked out a few different ones and bought one that had a great section on enemas. It was about eight pages long with all kinds of pictures and illustrations. The pictures were of actual hospital enema equipment of that era (circa 1960's to 1970's) . Disposable bags and plastic buckets and metal cans. Also fleet type disposables. No real pictures of patients receiving enemas but there were illustrations of how to administer an enema to a patient. The text was very extensive and step by step. There was also a sample "quiz" at the end for the nursing students to take to test their comprehension of the material. Even though all this material was very technical and not the least bit "kinky" I found it to quite the turn on. Having received a few enemas in hospitals prior to that time, reading the textbook brought back memories and set off strong psychological emotions. I know those hospital enemas were a major factor and part of what became a lifelong kink / fetish, so reading about it and even the illustrations I found to be quite erotic.

My mom was a nurse, and she told me in later years that the reason my parents didn't ever officially have "The Talk" (American expression for the standard "Teach your kids about sex" talk, usually feared to be with much embarrassment on both sides), was that she saw me reading some of her nursing books including OB/GYN Nursing! I adored my parents, but I think that was a handy excuse for avoiding the potential embarrassments of actually talking about sex in the 1950's and '60's. I did learn a good bit of anatomy, but I also remember very clearly thinking that "that's how you make a baby?, no way!, YECCH!!, Gross! I'm not putting that in there!" So obviously I was never actually aroused by the books. However, by the time I actually had a girl in college (I was a slow starter) try to get into my pants, I had reversed my opinion and had a lovely time. Sorry, mom, good try.

I can't count the number of books I've looked at and library videos I've watched over the years...I used to go to the college library all the time and rent the head to toe physical exam of the female!

It was my sister who was the nursing student in the 60's. When various classes were concluded her textbooks would be brought home and put on a bookshelf in the family room. They provided fine reading for my young curious teen mind. Surgical Support Nursing was one of my favorites. It had all the surgical preparations, so lots of naked bodies in all sorts of positions, plus post-surgery care. Some of it was a little gross, but compelling and fascinating.

One weekend when my sister was home and had brought the latest cache of textbooks, she caught me masturbating to some new discoveries. (But that's a story for a later posting in a different topic area.)
