Ricini spoke of chemically-induced cramps: I like chemical cramps, and also distension cramps. Someonw wrote that intestinal gas causes (some) cramps, whhich, of course is true. Sometimes I'll inject some air before taking the enema so as to get cramps. I have used bisacodyl for that. My results vary and I don't know why, when I'm taking a small dose of the medicine in my enema. If I take 3+ tablets, iirc, I had persistent burning abdominal pain for over an hour, no matter how many rinses I took.
Milk and molasses was my first experience with a non-soap purgative enema. I was inexpressibly thrilled about such fast, crampy desperate urge from 8 oz. I last tried m&m about 20 years ago, and seem to have stopped responding to it. Too bad; I kept a gallon of molasses in my room just for that. I wound up using it for cooking when I gave up on having my previous enjoyment with it.
Emom spoke of disliking and avoiding cramps. 30 years ago, that would've been unimaginable to me. Now I mostly feel as she does.
guzzleguzzlekid spoke of cold water enema cramps. for me, at least, cold water cramps are an isometric cramp. When I want cramps, I usually like peristalic cramps. Still, I use cold water for fun, sometimes. Mostly, though I use cold water enemas to cool of in summer. With cold water in my bowel, I can feel my whole body cool down rapidly. It is quite an experience for me. I have to be careful that I don't become uncomfortably chilled.
