Double standard? Anal sex and enemas

I can't imagine anal without an enema first. Yes an enema is uncomfortable, messy and relentless but those are its charms.

I find your comment hard to believe. Most people agree that if anal sex is to be comfortable and pleasurable, then cleanliness is a must. This is common sense.

I would not recommend anal sex without some sort of cleaning earlier that day to prepare, whether it is with enemas or a good bm followed by taking a shower and inserting a finger to clean out whatever tiny leftovers might remain. Anal sex with a dirty rectum can result in the "gritty" bits rubbing against the skin of the penis and/or rectal wall and causing an infection in the tiny scrapes that such dirt will leave in the skin.

I had a girlfriend that was the greatest sexually, and we would shower before sex with an enema for each of us. I got her into it as she loved anal and she really got into enemas as well. now unfortunately have a wife who is about as sexual as my stapler on my desk, and the thought of an enema repulses her. Then again she has IBS and multiple GI problems but she would rather die than take an enema......just can't figure her out......

I would agree enemas and anal sex ARE two different things and for me they are very related.

Kind of strange, but my x-wife took enemas when possible, but she never liked anal sex at all. She would get very put off if I had asked for anal sex. As it turned out if I would suggest an enema she was ok with that. I never had a chance to work on this issues but my thoughts are she would have gave in to both eventually.

That is interesting that your ex wife was not ok with anal sex even though she was ok with enemas, since it is usually the other way around, someone will be open to anal sex but not enemas. In other cases, there are people who tend to have an uncomfortable experience with anal sex because they did not clean out with enemas that day and there may be some rough debris left in their rectum from their last bowel movement. But your wife never would have experienced that, since she probably would have cleaned out with enemas first.

She therefore must have disliked anal sex, or the idea of it, for some other reason. It could be the idea that it's taboo, or it could be that she did not know that people have to practice anal insertions for a while with their fingers and with relatively small butt plugs, at least until their anal muscle is flexible enough to comfortably fit a penis. Another reason why she may not have wanted to try anal sex is that she was turned off by it, unaware that with the right circumstances it can provide many women with pleasurable stimulation to the entire pelvic area just as effectively as vaginal sex, and in some cases more.

One more thing I wonder about, perhaps she inserted her enema nozzle without proper lubrication and felt that that was all she could ever take, when she just needed to lube better.

I just can't imagine having anal sex with out an enema of some kind. I always clean myself out with an enema if I even think I might be having anal sex. I just like the feeling of knowing that my colon is clean of any feces. For me, it is peace of mind. I find enemas very sexually stimulating and often have to remind myself that the enema is only perpetration for the main event (anal sex).

Juli, I agree with you 100%. If I even think there is the possibility of having some backdoor fun, I'll do a "quickie rinse" to make sure everything is clean. The idea of having a messy adventure is repulsive to me and totally ruins the experience.

I imagine the loss of control can be a big issue, especially as it is in such a personal, embarrassing way. I can. When that area of the body gives you grief you can easily develop a certain antipathy towards it. When you're wondering every day what it's going to pull on you now you can get reluctant to mess with it for fear you'll be poking the tiger with a stick and make things work. My IBS turned out to be very amenable to using enemas as a part of the therapy, and now I'm feeling so much better and wish I'd done it sooner. Your wife's body may be different.

We almost always had anal sex without a prep enema and seldom had any problems. You don’t need a cleaned out colon, just the first 6-8 inches which is usually clean if you’ve had normal BMs beforehand. There were times we didn’t do anal because of concern, but that was rare. If you play there, eventually you’ll have an accident, even with an enema prep. It won’t kill you!

I've read some “guides” to preparing for anal sex, and while enemas certainly have a more prominent place in this prep than they do anywhere else in the present day outside of quackery and normal but messy and time consuming constipation remedies, they've more or less been replaced with “eat better and take psyllium husk and you're going to be both regular and clean”.

That said, enemas for constipation have been replaced by that too. Why would anyone tell you to risk messing up your gut biome with a temporary fix when you could just eat better and not have the problem in the first place in 99% of cases?

A large enema (1-2 qts) can actually make for messy anal sex if all the water doesn’t get out. One may have to prep well in advance and make sure it’s all expelled. Otherwise the thrusting action can create suction and draw any dirty water left out on the sheets. A small 8 oz bulp or a couple of shower shots are all that’s necessary If you feel you need it.

I imagine every adult performer who has done anal on camera is required to take an enema before the scene as well… the whole shoot would be unusable if anything messy were to happen so I imagine there are a good bit of people who still prep this way.

A basic biology lesson folks. If you prefer the area to be free of poop, all that needs to be clean is the rectum. The rectum is the last 6" (approximately) of the digestive tract and it connects to the outside world at the anus. Further in is the much longer colon (ascending, transverse and descending sections) and the colon connects to the rectum at the sigmoid sphincter. The sigmoid sphincter is a circular (donut shaped) muscular structure at the junction of the sigmoid colon and the rectum and it keeps material within the colon until it is ready to be passed to the rectum and expelled. The rectum is normally empty. When stool enters the rectum, you immediately get the sensation of needing to go sooner than later. So, a small shot of water from a bulb is all that is necessary to rinse the rectum, but that's not really necessary. And I don't care how proud your boyfriend is of his pecker, he's not going to turn it 90 degrees and enter the colon.

It is possibly for a male to get a UTI from unprotected anal sex, and therefore a condom would be a safety consideration. Yes, I realize that one isn't often used. To each his own.
