Clitoris Examination by your REAL doctor

My current doctor doesn't even really do an external exam. she spreads the opening with two fingers and then inserts the speculum. After the speculum is removed she does the bimanual exam and then she is done, However, I have had more thorough external exams done and while I don't know for sure, I think that visualizing the clit was part of the exam.

I've only had my clitoris examined once. The doctor pulled back the hood as he was saying that my clitoris was hidden. Then he briefly touched it and the inner labia. An exam to remember 😄

Has anyone found this elusive "clitoral hood retractor"?

I can imagine a small spoon type of instrument with a hole in it, perhaps various sizes depending on need, that can be placed over the clitoris, and pushed down to keep the hood completely retracted for any necessary examination or tests.

My Gyn always pulls the hood back and looks. That is while she is looking at my labias etc.

I can't say I know if my doc does or not. I suppose she probably pulls the hood back as she's doing the external, but I've never felt her touch my clit itself. THAT I'd know for sure 😜

Not by my Australian Gps and gynes,but in Vietnam it was a regular part of the exam, and it was seriously manipulated.

I've got a question for the ladies that have answered: how exposed is your clitoris? Is it possible that for those that have had direct contact the clit is more covered or retracted inside the hood?

About 30 years ago, while in stirrups the doctor positioned a light close enough to me that I could feel the heat off it. He also positioned a mirror so that I could see what he was doing. He then gave me a play by play on what he was doing. He absolutely retracted my clitoral hood and rubbed my clitoris between his thumb and forefinger. He did it for about 15 seconds. No nurse in the room with us. Now that I think about it, I still had my top on but was not draped below.

They always just separate an look at it but never touch!

I am sorry that I did not see your post earlier about the "clitoral hood retractor" or CHR. A well known play Doctor on this board turned me on it. It is a simply a regular spoon with a slotted handle. If you ever take notice of spoons, the slotted shape can take on a variety of sizes and lengths. So, you simply purchase a variety of inexpensive spoons with slotted handles and you cut off the bowl end of the spoon, thus leaving only the handle a few inches in length. You can use a metal file to smooth down metal where you get off of the bowl end of the spoon. And, then you have the infamous CHR.

This wonderful clitoral hood retractor can be easily used in play exams to examine the clitoris with actually manually touching it. I find the exposure and the coldness of the steel spoon handle adds a lot to the exam. The play Doc can also take a moist Q-tip and rub the underside of the clitoris and bring the lady patient to a wonderful O, all without actually touching the clit by hand. This can add to the medical clinic mind play of the exam.

Well now! I've my clitoris examined right from puberty but i never had an MD retract my hood for a closer look. Gynecological exams. ( nearer adilthood) were somewhat different. I was led to believe a very intimate clitoral examination was common. I learned otherwise much later. One female examiner ( nurse practitioner in college) lubricated her gloved fingers and delved into my 'forbidden fruit' all too forcibly.

What younger women of college age don 't know is that visiting the gynecologist to obtain birth control makes them vulnerable to a clinician's whims. What I've heard about employment physicals and their degree of intimacy sounds very sexy indeed.

Had it looked at but never has their been contact. The hood is usually retracted. Done very quickly most times.

After giving birth to my first child my doctor had to repair a very minor tear with a single stitch - it was very very close to my clit. When I went back for my check up 6 weeks check up he wanted to inspect and make sure it healed properly. He never touched my clit but came so close I wanted to beg!

The tear wouldn't have been 'very very' close to your clitoris Tkdgurl, because the urethral meatus intervenes. It would have been at the top of the vaginal introitus (entrance) though but even that is unusual - it's usually at the bottom, into the perineum, where the tissue is thinnest.

No doctor has ever touched mine...I'm sure they visually inspect it, as it's right there, but no retraction. Probably a good thing, I would totally jump out of my skin if they did that.

My hood has been retracted and looked at . I have been asked if it is responsive but it's never been touched.

Just a quick visual check.... the doc presses the hood up for a millisecond.

For a proper medical exam, it's important that the examiner visually observe ALL the tissues. If it's necessary to move things, so be it. For a woman, that includes moving the labia and clitoral hood. For a man, this includes moving and applying traction to the penis, moving the scrotum as well as retracting the foreskin (if present).

Most doctors that have given me a pelvic exam have examined my clit, but it's just a quick visual check during the external exam. My gynecologist pulls back the hood as he separates the labia at the top and then works his way down my entire vulva, visualizing and palpating my anatomy.

No woman would put off going to her annual gyn appointments if the doctor would spend just a little time making our experience more pleasurable. If that means spending a few minutes stroking our clit to test responsiveness, okay by me. :-)

I fear this would depend upon each person's personality and character, of their ideas of morality. I think that instead of making the experience more pleasurable, a large number of women would scream bloody hell and outrage, accusing the docs of gross sexual impropriety and violation of their bodies and sexual integrity. It would be sexual abuse in spades.

I've had many male doctor's examine my clitoris for much longer than you might imagine, but it's something you have to make happen. It comes from giving him every reason to over examine you. And as you know some will not for any reason. But many will.
