Ladies abdominal exam... Over gown or bare skin?

I've never had an abdo exam over a gown. The gown or my clothes are pulled up to just under my Breasts . The Dr then carries out the exam. As I still usually have pants on the Dr examines as far down as they allow . Sometimes he does adjust them a bit so he can feel just below the bikini line.

The purpose of an abdominal or ovaries exam is to detect abnormalities. I am glad that my doctor chooses bare skin so that he can make a better decision. Oh yes, my examination is done with gown only and the doctor examines what is required, that is, all of me!

I've only ever had it skin to skin. She usually pulls my underwear or sheet down just past the top of my pubic hair.

Today for endometriosis pain I had a bare abdominal and pelvic exam, it needs to be bare so they can also visualise and look for swelling or redness

To examine the abdomen with the gown it sheet in place is like admiring the Mona Lisa through a cement curtain. It detracts from the experience more than a little bit.

I have never had annual physical but I have recently had abdominal exams twice. Both the times it was with my abdomen exposed.

Always bare skin. I had one doctor do it over the gown and I never went back.

I have to lower my gown for that part. I don't think it should be done unless it's on bare skin.

My wife’s gyn has her put the gown on with the opening in the front and does the abdominal exam with the gown open, skin to skin

Generally my abdominal exam happens only during Annual Physical. It's always on my bare abdomen. I am in my regular clothes- generally skirt top. (Meeting the gastroenterologist is optional for me but I see him as a precautionary measure as generally my ultrasound report is normal )

He asks me to raise my top till below my bra. Then he auscultates, taps and palpates all over the abdomen to check for any abnormality. He generally checks till waistband of my skirt basically slightly below navel

My GYN moves right from my breast exam down to the abdomen. It is bare skin since the gown is open in the front. She goes down toward top of pelvic area.

Most have always been bare. I'm one who can't stand those stupid Johnnie's or the paper ones.

For my wife’s physicals, she changes into a blue paper vest that opens in front and comes down to about her navel. Then she sits her bare bottom up onto the end of the exam table and covers her lower half with a blue paper drape that comes down to about mid thigh. After having the breast exam sitting up, she lies back and the breast exam is repeated. The examiner then closes the front of the vest, pushes it up to just below her breasts, and pushes the drape down to just above her mons pubis. The examiner first listens to her bowel sounds with the stethoscope, then palpates her abdomen lightly, then firmly from her ribcage down to her mons, finishing up with percussing her abdomen in several different spots. After pulling the vest down to her navel and pulling the drape up a little higher on her abdomen, it’s on to the pelvic exam.

With my doctor, she usually pulls my gown down for the breast exam. It is open in the back. She does the breast exam first with me sitting and then has me lay back. Then she moves to my abdomen. She goes down to just above my pubic bone.

As in Germany there are no gowns, doctors always do the abdomen exams directly on bare skin. And of course you are exposed during the examination, because they dont give you anything to cover up. Thats how it is in Europe.

For me always bare. I've never had one with the gown pulled down and my breasts exposed but I kind of fantasize about that sometimes.

Along the same lines, I am wondering how many doctors pull the gown down.. to the pubic mound - and do both a breast and abdominal exam... versus those who expose, then re-cover the patients breasts, before pulling the gown up... to do the abdominal exam.

Mine goes from the breast exam to the abdominal exam and leaves the breasts exposed. Then while im still laying flat, she palpates my abdominal area and i can feel her hands all the way down above my clit. she presses around on my pubic mound on my bare skin. I can't see it bc my breasts are in the way and she doesn't like me sitting up bc the muscle tightens. During this part is when I'm most exposed.

Most if not all of my exams have been skin to skin. Beyond that they break into three categories of how I’m draped.

My breasts have always been covered for the exam.

1. The first adult doctor I had did the exam with the gown pulled up to under my my breasts. I had underwear on. I was undressed from the boobs down. Even though I wasn’t really more exposed than I would be at the pool, it still felt exposing. Underwear is so personal. It’s like an extension of me. Or maybe I’m just a prude?

2. My last doctor did the exam with my bottom half covered with a sheet and my top half covered with the own exposing my belly.

3. My current doctor reaches under the gown from the side and feels without exposing anything. It’s kinky, kind of like an under the table hand job. lol

Wait until he rolls you over to do the DRE.

Currently, my abdominal exams are done on bare skin.

My Gyn has me in a paper exam vest that more or less covers my breasts and I have a drape over my lower body, so my abdomen is exposed.

Our internist just pulls my gown up and bunches it under my breasts. My panties are still on at this point, so everything important remains covered.

I've had a lot of abdominal exams. Since in our country they don't provide a gown, they do all examinations on a bare belly. My underwear was always on and my chest was covered. Maybe a couple of times doctors pulled my panties down till the pubic hairline.

All my doctors have examined me bare skin. Usually listen to my bowels, then palpate down to pubic hair.

I'm usually fully topless

Mostly bare skin if the nurse is there too. At some regular doctor visits, I had a few doctors palpate my stomach over clothes if an observer wasn't there.

Bare skin with my knickers pulled down to where my slit starts. Twice i've had the abdominal exam with no knickers on.

If I am wearing knickers she doesn't pull them back up but asks me to remove them for my vulva to be examined.
