I am surprised to not see much recent posting to this. I've seen talks of baking soda enemas frequently around Zity. I figured the thread would be respectively large.
My gut is a persnickety little thing. Some days it'll take an enema with nay a cramp with Ivory soap, but others it'll cramp rather fierce with even salt and baking soda. No rhyme or reason. It's due to such that I thought baking soda was actually causing cramps, to the contrary of many people's anecdotes, purely on the chance that my gut was just not having it each time I took one.
But then I tried one again just earlier for curiosity's sake. I filled up a 4 quart bag with about two tablespoons of baking soda, after having taken and expelled a 3 quart ivory enema, and thought I'd be lucky to get the same amount of fluid in. Surprise, I took the whole bag! And then it was nearly cramp free for around 5 minutes! And it was the most pleasant enema I've ever had, with surprisingly few cramps.
I did use a colon tube that got around 9" deep, which would make any enema a bit easier to take, but wowza! I couldn't be more pleased… except that expulsion was a real hassle. Lesson learned: baking soda enemas are not for the last enema in a session.
Otherwise, I think I found one of my favorite solutions for taking and holding large, belly filling enemas (my favorite!).
