Years ago, when I was a member of the Ladies Enema Journal, LEJ, where we ladies sat on the front porch and discussed the use of enemas along with other homemaking and lady type things and the gentlemen members were out in the workshop only being allowed to lurk not participate. One of our members recommended a cool, hot weather enema that, after taking a warm quart or two of a soapy enema for an initial cleanout, consisted of a bag full of tap water from the cold water faucet with 2-tablespoons of baking soda per quart of water.
The recommended position was on the back with the knees up in a relaxed position, the bottom of the bag was to be hung only 12-inches above the Rectum and the flow was at the slowest possible setting. Nozzle recommendations were to use a douche type or other type with a tip bigger than the shaft for easier retention, if you had a Higginson pump it was advised to use it inline within reach, and hold the enema as long as it is comfortable to do so.
There was a general concern that the cool water would result in more than normal cramping and the possibility of greatly severe cramping but the recommender said that the large amount of baking soda would negate that. So a number of us, I believe it was 7 or 8 said we’d give it a try and report back.
In my case I started with 2-quarts of warm water with 2-teaspoons of Dr. Bronners Castile baby shampoo which I took in the knee chest position. I held it for 10-minutes as I went through the 3-point positions, left side, back and right side while massaging my abdomen to assure the enema did a good cleansing which resulted in a very satisfactory clean out. Being concerned about the possibility that some residual soap could affect the baking soda test, I took another 2-quarts of plain warm water, again in the knee chest position with another 10-minute 3-point hold.
For the cool baking soda enema I followed instructions using a whirling spray douche nozzle and a Higginson pump that I never needed to use except as a backflow preventer. I flowed the enema slowly, taking a full half hour to empty the bag as I massaged my abdomen in a counter clockwise direction. I experienced no cramping, only occasional pressure which dissipated when I massaged my abdomen. I was able to retain the enema almost 15-minutes before I needed to expel it. It was one of the most comfortable satisfying enemas I had ever given myself up to that time and I still take them today after working in the yard on a hot day with the same positive and pleasurable result.
I also came to realize that, as when taking any enema, to go through the process keeping your hands away from pleasure areas because if I go “over the mountain” then my desire to complete the enema and planned retention time fades. Play time follows after all goals are met.
Of those who reported back to the LEJ, with the exception of two, they had the same or close to the same results I had. The two that didn’t admitted they hadn’t taken the cleansing enemas first. Later they came back to tell us that had taken the enemas as recommended and were happy with the result.
