Rigid Sigmoidoscope

I would like to ask @Pollux whether, as he was a professional, he was ever stimulated sexually by doing this procedure? I know that he would be having to concentrate on the job at hand, especially while he was slowly removing the scope, but I can't help thinking that, had I been in his shoes, I would have enjoyed this particular task whilst practicing my profession. Please don't think that I am suggesting that he was being unprofessional- simply that all of us appreciate that our various professions, have their perks.

I was not. I was too focused on doing the procedure properly and looking for pathology. It's not easy to perform without a bit of discomfort that many of us might welcome but your average person does not.

My doc used to do a rigid sigmoidscope exam on me as part of an annual physical. The physical would be one day. I'd have to return another day after having taken a Fleet enema before the exam. I'd be naked below the waist with my butt positioned at a corner of the exam table, my legs roughly at right angles to body. The scope slid in pretty easily, I don't recall any pain but there is some discomfort. The center part [obturator] would then be removed and the doc could look through the scope at the anus and lower colon. Been many decades since the last exam. I was never stimulated sexually by the exam. One time was intensely embarrassing when feces flowed out as the scope was inserted. The doc gave me a second Fleet enema, only then to find out he was out of gowns. With only a shirt on, I just had time to run down to the toilet at the end of the hall, past the secretaries. Of course had to return the same way.

I would enjoy seeing this procedure done on a willing patient.

Thanks Pollux for replying so promptly .Speaking for myself as a possible patient: If it was a play exam, I would be very excited but if it were real , I would be very tense and trying to interpret every movement- particularly if it was repeated, fearing the worst . I would get great comfort if my doctor gave me a running commentary. Thanks again
