@SwitchableSusie Was there even an inference? I didn't see one.
THIS is the inference. JTMac said it, no one implied it. He said "it seems like a heated debate. . . . "

Within the last 24 hours or so, an additional 25 posts precipitated, which collectively seems like a heated debate that intensified, where it almost seems like folks are overthinking this.

I can tell you ( I guess its not obvious to you [JTMac] ) that threads are often resurrected months and years after they seem to go to the zity graveyard for many reason .
You can trust me on this one. I KNOW old threads get resurrected all the time. Who do you think merges all the old threads with new ones on the identical topic with even the identical thread name because people don't bother to do a search when they start a new thread. --Little ole me!--Believe me, when it comes to topics for discussion on Zity.Biz, everything old is new again.

I have seen some “ heated debates” here on Zity , trust me this is far from one of them .
That's for sure! I think this one is pretty laid back despite having a number of different views.

As I said below, this is a SEX ACT! If you are convalescing at home, and you wouldnt ask your MOTHER to do something for you, don't ask your nurse!!
Equal footing has nothing to do with it. If a patient asks a nurse to help them with anything, the nurse is still only providing a service.
Before you condemn me for saying I would perform a certain service for incapacitated patients, consider the other things I said:
If you make the "will you masturbate me to relieve me?" request with a smile you both might have a good laugh over it.
While masturbating a patient could be thought of as a therapeutic procedure and the patient would benefit emotionally from it while stuck in a hospital, our society is too hung up to consider it. If I knew I wouldn't get in trouble for doing it, I would do it for an incapacitated patient.
If there were no rules against it or repercussions I would do it for any patient that requested it--but not all day long. I have other patients to treat. The fact is very few people, especially if they are really ill, are interested in being "relieved."
You guys are taking a hypothetical situation much too seriously.
