William,I would try adding an inline Higginson type bulb syringe so you could give an added bit of pressure if needed toget through a blockage or tight area.
Williammaybe 3 quarts is simply your maximum capacity. I would not advise using pumps of any kind as this could be dangerous. You could try raising the bag/container higher, it will increase the pressure into you, but maybe a better suggestion would be to try taking laxatives over a period of a few days to try and clear out your colon thoroughly and then try again. Personally I can get 6 quarts in with the bag only 3 feet above me, but everybody is different in their capacity - just enjoy what yuo do, it's not a competition.
I didn't see anybody mention it (might have missed it) but sometimes I can take the most standing up! A retention nozzle is a great help when trying to do this. I have taken a few 4 quart enemas while standing. Another position is lying on the right side, the water flows down and fills the cecum.
Well, as I have stated before, a huge enema for me is about 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 qts. Took 3 qts. a couple of times but thought I was about to explode, so a more moderate amount for me is my peference. The position that I prefere most of the time is flat on my back. This provides me with the most comfort when taking my enemas.Professor
I prefer to be comfortable on my bed. Usually, I'm on my back, and the john isn't more than 15 feet away. In this position, I take between 3 to 4 quarts. Usually, I use a 4 quart bag, but seldom finish it. If I took a second one, I could take the full gallon. But I've almost always been a single enema type of guy.
To day for the first time took a 3quart and 3 quart+ enema standing up. Used a straight nozzel wth a large knob of rubber bands on the nozzel, this is done with all my nozzels, once that knob passes the spincer it stays put. With the help of my higgins took all 3 quarts easyer than laying down.Sec- enema used a kb3 1/34", once in no leakage and could take a little more than 3 quarts.
When taking coffee enemas i prefer lying on my left. Then i can relax while holding the coffee. I use to hold the coffee in apx. 30 minuttes
Knee-chest or on knees and elbows, with the buttocks high up and the torso lowered, so that gravity aids the flow of water into the colon.
I have found that knee chest works best for me when taking large volume (3+ Quarts), minimal discomfort and expulsion is fairly quick and easy.
Oddly enough, I found the sit-down JBL bag to give me the best fill comfortably. I usually take no more than 3 quarts, but with the JBL I once took close to 4. Had it been a second fill, I'm sure I could have taken more.
Take as many cleanout enemas as you need in knee-chest position. Once everything is cleaned out, you can then use the Simms position for the 4-qt or larger. It's easier to relax in that position. Large enemas are really about relaxation.
I find the best position for me is just standing up in the shower. It provides the most freedom for my abdomen to expand with the inflow of fluid. My second choice is lying on my left side with my right knee forward.
Will try on my back just bought a tap nozzle from hard wear shop £2.50 fits on my plastic hose a treat and is about 11/2 dia and just big enough to plug my bum so I can relax and not leak. Just working up from 3.6ltrs milk container to adding another liter.
Standing up is best for me. Also find it hard to get ut from a lying position if very full. Normally take 2-3 quarts, but have taken 5 quarts and the feeling is absolutely great. To take very large enemas, need to build up to it over a few days. It sems to be a question of relaxing rather than the size of the Colon.
Tried a couple of times moving during filling but seems to make it more uncomfortable. So I am using a uk 3 ltr milk container plus another litre. So fill the big one let it empty a bit then keep filling it from a 1 ltr to top it up.. its only about 2 ft above my bottom at this point. Then I get out the bath and ger on all fours bum up head down. The turn on my left side so I can see it draining down willing it lower .So officially the big one is 3.4 ltr little 1 ltr and I think I am taking nearly 4 ltr not been able to get completely take it all.Tried rolling around but I think it makes stomach muscles contract and thus ups the discomfort to I think best to stop levels! !Xx
The best enema from a view point of least discomfort and most volume happened a few months ago. I was seeing my enema nurse Ava, I see her generally around noon and I do a thorough clean out prior to our meeting around 5 am. This day we did med-fet prior to enemas. Inspection, stretching, electro-stim. I was really relaxed. The enema was 4 quarts, with sea salt and backing soda and a dash of Dr Bonner's baby shampoo. I was in a sims position. during the process she inserted a 3 foot silicone colon tube. The water was about 110F. The flow was slow and she stopped frequently. At no time during the process was discomfort, I felt the water going in, and my expanding. I couldn't believe it when she said, "All done". She had me hold it for 10 minutes, she rubbed my back and kept me relaxed. In hindsight, I wish she had another quart to see if I could have taken 5, 4 has been my limit.Self administering, lying on my back, knees flexed or standing allow the most water with the least discomfort. For large volume I like the water 107-110 with sea salt and sometimes baking soda is added.
For me there are days when I just can't do a large volume. When I can to start out I lay on the side, stomach, side position for the first qt. Then on my back for the last 3, A 4 qt. silicone bag with a higginson pump and a inflatable nozzle is used.
Lying on my back is best position for large enemas. Have also done very large (4 qt plus) when lying in the bath tub full of water.
Knee chest is usually best for me when taking the first 2 quarts, but beyond that left side right side and on the back all seem to help.
Two answersTypically in the knee chest position to get solution further up into the colon.Second would be in a tub of warm water (enough water to cover the abdomen). I find that the water in the tub helps to equalize the pressure of the water flowing inside , thus reducing the cramping.
Simms position for starting the enema and then the patient has to turn so that the butt is up to the air and head is down.
Knee-chest seems to be the best position for administering any quantity over a litre, gravity helping the water get past the sigmoid and into the descending and transverse colon.
If someone is giving me the enema knee chest is best, it shows subservience. If I am giving myself one then it on my back with my kneed bent.
I have to change positions when taking a larger volume. I might start by lying on my back, then move to lying on one side. Eventually on my knees, with my head down and butt up in the air. I can't say that one position is better than the other. It just seems that shifting position must move the solution around and allow me to take more.I think this was me in a prior incarnation 😃 if not, this seems to work the best for larger volume enemas when I do them.
I find that once the enema has started to flow, that rolling from my left side and onto my back allows for the best fill. Rolling over to my right side doesn't seem to help when doing a big filling.
I find it best not to change positions once I have a quart or so in me--I always do 4 quarts-- because the movement makes me tens my stomach muscles, I loose control of my sphincter, and I leak a bunch on the floor of the shower.hankb
I always start on my side which makes it easier to put in the nozzle or colon tube. I have to put the tube in a few inches and let perhaps a quart flow in before the colon is inflated enough that I can get the tube past the corner between the rectum and the descending colon. Then I can put the tube in the rest of the way, into the transverse colon. Once the tube is in, I usually switch to my back so that I can watch the bag deflate, the flow indicator go around, and masturbate. After all 4 quarts are in, I eventually switch back to my side, slowly pull the tube out and put in an inflatable butt plug so that I do not leak when I get up to go to the toilet. It does not make any difference whether it is my first enema or my last, I always put in 4 quarts of tap water.hankb
