I too am a cancer survivor having had a radical prostectomy to survive. Like Rufusc24 I wore a catheter for about two weeks and was informed that when I came in to have it removed to do so with a diaper ready. I did so happily wearing disposables and cloth. I wore cloth pull on diapers (better side protection) with soakers and plastic pants to bed.
Fortunately I sat down with my personal manager telling her that I would like the use of a private bathroom to change diapers in and was even given an additional fifteen minutes at lunch time to do a better cleaning and change. I carry my diapers in a back pack with a small lock for the sake of security but most everyone knows anyway.
I've been practicing exercises that strengthen your pubococcygeal muscles, sometimes called the "Kegel muscles" in reference to the exercise (and doctor). Originally the pelvic floor muscle exercises were designed for women after childbirth but they help men who have had prostate surgery as well since the same region is effected.
Remarkably after about a year I was having orgasms wearing diapers just by doing my "Kegel exercises". Even better, I can do so at work and the only risk is when I orgasm and get that blank look in my eyes! Ye Ha!
It's never been about what fate befalls us but how we gather ourselves and get back up. Of course surviving is the key but wearing diapers has been a real boon for me. My wife understands, neighbors, co-workers.
I shop on-line, and often browse the stores to see what's new. I even started wearing coveralls just for the room they give me (no belt bonus). I've even become something of a consultant regarding diapers. How cool is that?
