Nurse saw me naked while changing

I went to the hospital for an outpatient procedure. After I signed in, I was brought to the preoperative area which small curtained off "rooms" with beds on wheels. My nurse was very pleasant, late 30's, blonde long hair, thin and very attractive. After asking all of the usual questions, she said here are 2 bags for your clothes. Please take everything off, put on the gown and ly down on the bed. She then closed the curtain and left.

As I removed my clothes I folded them and put them in the bags. At this point, I was completely nude and putting the last article of clothing in the bag when my nurse pulled the curtain and walked right in. We looked at each other and she said "Oh sorry, can I get you a warm blanket?" I replied sure. Then she returned with a blanket as I was putting my gown on. I thanked her and she said sorry for walking in on you. I said no worries.

By the time I was in my second week at the hospital following my open heart surgery, I had lost all inhibitions about being seen naked by anyone who was helping me.

In the many years I've been around I've been walked in on many times. My doctor's receptionist looked like this:

He always had me strip completely for a physical. He went out to use the phone in his office and she came in with the next patient's folder thinking I was gone. She was really upset and I had to talk her down when I left. I told her I'd been coming there so long I just felt like family and I wasn't bothered at all.

In recent years at the hospital I've been seen so many times I don't care anymore. Once it was a girl who graduated the year before from the high school where I'm a crossing guard and traffic control for the buses. She said she thought she recognized me as she was putting my underpants on as I was getting ready to go home. Several of the nurses and assistants did from taking their kids to school. One of the older ones knew me from fixing her TVs, she was one of my customers.

Last November I had outpatient surgery to repair a torn bicep tendon. After surgery the nurse was helping me put on my t-shirt since my arm was numb and I had no control. They never buttoned the top of the gown after surgery and it fell off leaving me standing in front of her nude while she put the shirt on. I was still too out of it to enjoy it. She apologized, I just said no worries I'm sure you didn't see anything new 😂

In a medical office nurses have never watched me get undressed, but a few times they have watched me getting dressed after various office procedures. In a hospital I have either been naked or had my genitals exposed so many times I don’t even notice it anymore

@ggheat I believe nurses are not embarrassed when they see, intentionally or unintentionally, a patient nude. I also believe a nurse's first mission is to help and care for their patients regardless of the patient's state of undress.

A curious aside, I have visited many nude resorts and beaches over the years where I met many nurses who were nudists. So is it possible, the nurses who are most comfortable when seeing a patient nude are nudists?

I just had an outpatient procedure which I wrote about here. As a result of that procedure, I have to visit the hospital in May for another out patient procedure. Aghhh! So I was thinking about the last visit and these thoughts came to me.

So the next time I go to the hospital I was wondering what is the chance I'll be caught nude again? Should I undress really slow or ask for help putting the gown on?

Just thinking out loud. Any thoughts?

My daughter is a hospital ward nurse. When we talked about nudity in medical settings one time she said it was necessary and that after a very short while it was unremarkable. Any sort of modesty was for the patients comfort not hers.

I am a retired RN, critical care and radiology certified. Seeing people naked is unavoidable in a hospital setting and also in some outpatient settings. Nurses and all other health care workers work to keep patients feeling safe so all measures are taken to ensure patient modesty is maintained.

On the other hand I have been a consumer of health care from time to time and have had my own experiences of being exposed as a patient...I always felt comfortable in those situations.

Thank you replying. From a nurse's perspective, did you ever feel that a patient wanted to be seen nude? Or did you notice if a patient had an all over tan? Just curious.

Intresting question, as part of overall patient assessment it is necessary to observe the patients skin, noting anything anything unusual such as moles bruises, open sores ect. The thing that got my attention on my patients were tattoos, not the ones that you see today but the ones from earlier. Some were very elaborate like the guy who served in the China navy, he had a beautiful dragon scene on his chest, he had open heart surgery and a plastic surgon closed the chest so that the image remained as intact as possible. I have also seen numbers tattooed on forearms on concentration camp survivors. Two of my favorite were a young woman who had a cat head inked in her lady parts and an older guy who had Air Force wings on his chest. The ink was recent and he explained that he went to a squadron reunion and all of his buddies went to the tattoo parlor and got their wings permanately applied to their bodies.

@thumpercat Very interesting response. I am a nudist and have an all over tan....no tan lines. Do nurses ever notice that?

Tan lines do stand out.

I also took care of patients who were very casual about being naked.

On two occasions I have been seen naked while changing. I had a prostate biopsy and once the procedure was done the doctor left the room. The nurse then told me that I could get dressed. I sat up on the table and was a little dizzy. As she was about to leave the room, I then asked her about taking off the patient ID band on my wrist that had been put on me when I checked in. She said “I’ll get some scissors to cut the band off” and she left the room. I sat on the table for a minute and then I got off and went over to where my clothes were hanging. I had just taken off the gown and was about to start putting my clothes back on when the nurse walked back in the room with the scissors. Seeing me completely naked, she hesitated for a second. I just took some steps toward her to cut off the wrist band and she then began to walk closer to me. As we met, I could see her take a flash glance down at my shaved penis and scrotum. She fumbled with the scissors and ID wristband to cut it off as I stood in front of her naked. Neither one of us said anything about my nakedness. Once the band was cut off, she left the room and I got dressed.

The other occasion was when I had an annual physical with my female PCP. After my doctor finished giving me a rectal and prostate exam, she got off of the stool and said “we’re done” as she walked to the computer. I straightened up from being bent over the exam table and she began talking to me as I was standing facing her in the exam gown. She was telling me about getting a COVID-19 booster, flu, and a Shingles shot, and possible preventative tests. As she spent several minutes telling me about the preventative tests I should have, I was thinking to myself if I should wait for her to leave the room to get dressed or if I should get dressed as we talked? I didn’t want to offend her, but I figured that she see’s patients personal privates (male and female) all the time. So, I untied the upper part of my exam gown and started to take it off. My doctor asked me a question and I was standing naked facing her to answer her question. I stood naked in front of her for about a minute or so and then I went over to the chair where my clothes were, and she watched me putting my underwear on as I proceeded to get dressed while finishing discussing these tests. She didn’t at all seem troubled by me standing in front of her being fully naked.

In both instances it didn’t bother me at all being seen naked by the nurse or doctor. I’ve been to nudist beaches, so I’m fine being naked and if someone see’s my penis it’s no big deal to me. I wasn’t embarrassed and it being in a medical setting they didn’t seem bothered either.

We should get over this in medical setting. Naked needn't be problematical. Medical folk have erotic feelings too but usually our bodies are not of interest. We are not all super models. Actual abuse in medical or clerical situations is deplorable and must be persecuted. Yet I have had a turp and was managed by many young ladies who taught me to catheterize myself fully naked. All were professional and must have seen many naked males as they had likely been naked in gyn exams. @bratwurst I have a hospital procedure coming up in 2 weeks and I would really like to undress while the nurse is asking all of the countless questions. For the last three hospital procedures, over the last six months, I can't remember if the nurse closed the curtain or left it open till she was done with her questions. If she closes the curtain while questioning then I'll undress.

Bratwurst, once you began undressing did your nurse react any way? Did she seem surprised? I had the same nurse two out of the three times...it's a small hospital. She was about 40 years old an attractive. I hope she is my nurse again.

I had an out patient procedure, a vasectomy, and was shown to a side room so that I could undress and get into a gown. I had just removed the last item of clothing so that I was completely naked when a nurse came in as I was putting on a gown. She seemed to be fine with me being nude, it was all part and parcel of her job, and just carried on with what she had to do.

@computerstation The room was an ex-hospital patient room re-purposed for surgical admission; the only curtain track, was near the door. The room was completely open. I surmise that all the patients stripped in front of the nurse. If she admitted 3 patients a day, 5 days a week, for a couple years, that's a lot of patients she's seen strip naked. She had no reaction at all.

If you desire to be naked, and nurse doesn't tell you in what sequence you strip, take off your shoes, socks and pants first. When I had a colonoscopy nurse had me take off shirt, put on the gown, then take off pants.

@bratwurst The previous procedures intake nurses took me to the curtained patient room as you described with a chair and a gurney. Then they stood at the foot of the gurney and started the rapid fire questions, but I can't remember if they closed the curtain behind them or not. After the questions, they requested everything off and put on the gown. The curtain was definitely closed, at this point, and the nurse left me alone to change.

My procedure is this week and if I'm brave enough, I'm going to do what you did. I'll as, everything off and put on the gown? And when she says yes, off go my clothes. I'll post about it next week. Thanks.

The same thing happened to me as to @bratwurst. Nurse had me take my shirt off and put the gown on so she could tie it in the back, which was nice. She then told me to remove everything else but left the room first.

Another nurse came in and started an IV.

It seems to me that there is always a likelihood of a nurse seeing a patient in various stages of undress including being naked for an exam or to receive certain procedures of an embarrassing nature!

I had a minor surgical procedure a few years ago at a surgery center. When I woke up after the surgery I was laying on the bed in the gown. The nurse was standing their with my skivies in her hands saying it is time to get dressed. So I sat up, turned with my legs off the bed and she slipped my skivies on me. s\She had to move the gown and I had to stand up for her to get them all the way on. She had a good view of my penis, I don't know if she looked at it or not. I think that is just part of a surgical experience.

I had to have an ultrasound a few weeks ago on my upper thigh. The nice young female ultrasound tech brought me into the room. We chatted about why I was there, got my info sorted, etc. I was then expecting her to ask me to put on a gown in the room and then leave the room. Instead she said, well you can just lower your pants and lie down on the exam table if you don't want to bother with a gown. I was fine with that.

So, while we chatted I took a few things out of my pockets, like my cell phone, took off my shoes, undid my belt and lowered my pants. I laid down on my back and needed to move my shirt up and out of the way so we didn't get any of the gel on it. So, she very clearly saw me in my briefs. Now, I wasn't nude and being in my underwear was no big deal, but I have to admit I liked it. I liked that she was very casual about it and it wasn't her just carefully trying to only undrape one little section of my thigh in case, god forbid, she saw me in my underwear. It made it all a lot faster too. And then she just chatted with me while I got up, pulled up my pants, tucked in my shirt, redid my belt and got all set. It was a pleasant experience.

I’ve had a few occasions where the medical staff, technicians, doctors, nurses, etc, saw me either completely naked, or everything below my waist. I honestly didn’t care, and I’m sure that it didn’t give them a thrill either. There’s nothing sexual about a medical exam for me. If it comes to a private session with an attractive woman, in the comfort of a hotel room or private home, that’s entirely different.

I'm sure nurses have seen a lot of patients naked. I been seen naked a number of times.

I had my knees replaced a few years ago. Since yhry were so stiff, I had to be bathed in bed. After awhile I was allowed to use the shower but the nurse stood there holding me up. After getting out I had someone that came in to help me bathe/shower.

Going to hospital on Thursday for procedure. Want to undress in front of nurse before procedure. Hope I get the opportunity.
