Well I talked to the OP about it and yes he did, that is what he meant.
First off, it is wrong to misconstrue my comments and thoughts as a defense or advocacy for evil, trickery or deceit. i further find it unreasonable to imply that i am blurring the original intent of the OP. A few 'liked' my post, so perhaps i am not alone in my read of the OP? To come back several months later and clarify: "oh yeah, that's what i had in mind," doesn't bring any of us closer to being a mind reader. I'm going by what was written, not what was thought.
Sorry, but actually, yes I can. When I've identified who has been doing this, and their problem behaviours, and confronted them about the issues they have caused with other members, I'm surely in an ideal position to characterise the problem.
I'm not saying there are not a small number of individuals confused about who they are, and perhaps choose to present themselves as the opposite sex. But findings suggest they are relatively few and not very active, so they aren't doing harm. One member who for a time had two identities here, one male and one female, is an example of this. And he admitted wanting to explore what his feminine side, he explained. So yes, it does happen.
Thank you for saying so, i find no disagreement with your second paragraph, and essentially that was the point i was making all along. i wasn't trying to blur anything, sorry if i wasn't clearer about that.
As regards your first paragraph. Had the OP used the same clarifying qualifiers as you have in his OP, i would agree. He did not by my read, so while i can see and agree that there are those who do have wrongful intent, i can also see other possibilities... which i believe is what i said. While i believe your experience carries some authoritative weight, it is anecdotal and does not qualify as evidence to me. Second hand, it doesn't have the same impact on me as it does you.
Still, i bow to your experience here and apologize if any here became confused by my thoughts. i don't think it's ever a good idea to pretend to be something or someone you are not. Heck, i even despise roll play. What i was attempting to express was not advocacy of either side of this coin, rather just possible other motive by the pretender.
