How far was your underwear lowered for a rectal temperature?

When the thermometer was inserted into your little hole, how much did your underwear lower? just under the butt? mid-thigh? To the knee ? or up to the feet? And, in your experience, was there a precise difference in doing this between taker and taker (mother, grandmother, aunt, babysitter, nursery)?

At my last play exam, I was wearing only briefs. After an unsatisfactory oral temp, the doctor had me lie on my left side and draw my knees up towards my chest. He then tugged my shorts down to mid-thigh so he could get my rectal temp.

When he was finished, he told me I could pull my underwear back up, which was difficult with an erection.

Thinking back, I have to say it really depended on who was doing it (mom, aunt, babysitter or the nurses at the hospital). Most of the time it was a mix of under the butt or mid-thigh, but I also remember them being lowered to the knees. I guess everyone has a different approach when it come to that part.

I have not had a rectal temp very often, but the times I did have it, my underwear was off.

@Lee95, in real rt situations as a child, it really depended on who was taking it. Mom and most of the nurses would lower my undies to anywhere between mid-thigh and to my knees. There was one memorable nurse in my pediatrician's office that would lower those undies all the way to my ankles. That made me feel all the more exposed. I think about her and her wonderful technique to this very day. That is how strong an affect she had on me! I even posted about my recollection of the first time she took my temperature. My Mom lowered my pants and underpants or my pyjama bottoms if I was still in bed to my knees.

While I was on the scale completely dressed in a three piece suit as we had just had a family photo taken that Saturday morning I heard the nurse talking with my mom and dad about 'giving the boys a rectal'. I had no idea what a 'rectal' was. Once we were escorted to the exam room my father had my brother and I take off everything including underpants and socks. When my mom chimed in saying that we should keep our briefs on my dad mentioned this 'rectal' thing again. Even the nurse was taken aback when she came back and seen that our 3 piece suits were divested of us and replaced with our birthday suits. The nurse had me get on the exam on all fours while my brother sat over my mom's lap with his butt high up. The nurse said"this might be uncomfortable for a few minutes" as I looked back I felt a jelly covered temperature shoved into my rear end. I nearly jumped off the table. Every time I look at that old family picture I think of the fact that with in an hour my brother and I would be naked writhing on the table because I had a thermometer in my rear

When I was little it used to be taken down to my mid-thighs.

I can only remember having my temperature taken rectally one time. When I was around six years old. That was at the clinic by a nurse while my mom held me down over her lap. I was told I was getting my temperature taken in my bottom and refused to cooperate. I can remember the nurse taking my pants and underwear down around my knees in one swift yank.

If we were not already naked (with sister) undee went down to the knees. Sister if she were in her babydoll that was just lifted up to make her cheeks exposed to the procedure.

For me taken off while laying on my tummy or in diaper changing position.

I don’t really remember exactly how far the nurse would initially pull my underwear down to, but I do know when I was sat back up, they would be just above my knees. On only several occasions I was quite surprised by their complete removal.

My underwear was always lowered to mid thigh. My underwear was below my bottom, but above my knees. My mother, both grandmothers, and the nurses at the pediatrician and hospital all seemed to do this.

My last rectal temperature saw my briefs get taken off, and the thermometer inserted as I lay nude on the massage table then with the instrument sticking out between my cheeks.

Whether @ home by my parents or @ the dr by the nurses….I only remember my Underware being pulled down just enough to see my bottom and get the thermometer into my bottom….so probably just below my cheeks.

I still as an adult; take my temperature rectally and when I do I will lower my pants and underwear just enough to insert the thermometer or b/c I take it for fertility reasons and mostly in the mornings; sometime I sleep in just a gown or long t-shirt without panties for easier and quicker access….

I know from the past that - if the measurements were taken in the prone position - the pants (pyjamas or trousers) and briefs were pulled down to about the thighs, sometimes even lower down to the knees.

Up until I was five years old, the nurses at the children’s clinic always took my rectal temperature using the diaper position. She pulled my Captain America underwear all the way down to my ankles and raised my legs where I couldn’t squirm or move. This is when I’d be looking over on the cabinet where she had the thermometer ready with a dollop of Vaseline or K-Y jelly already on the tip. I usually whimpered because I knew when she picked it up, where it was going to go. She stuck it in so far , and it felt so uncomfortable. I winced and sometimes cried. They’d usually try to comfort me, but it didn’t take any of the cold discomfort of the thermometer lodged deep inside my rectum.

When taking my own temperature in bed as a child, I would lower my pajama bottoms below the buttocks and roll on the side. At least that's what I remember.

At home, if mom suspected that I had a fever, the exact rutual depended if I was already dressed. If I was, mom sent me to my room and told me to take off my pants and underwear and lay on my bed. If I was still in bed she would pull back the covers and tell me to untie my bottoms and she would pull them off by the cuffs. Then I would roll over. If I was staying with my best friend ( which was frequently) his mom just unbuckled our britches and pulled them and our drawers down to our ankles and took us over her knees. We were always angry because she always took both our temperatures and his sisters too--just because we might have given each other some bug. When I visited my aunt and uncle, they were nudists and we usually naked so we just went across her lap. At the doctors office the nurses just pulled our undies down about mid thigh except one nurse always pulled them off.

For all my rectal temperature procedures, I was always undressed to my underwear-shorts, and laying on my tummy with my arms at my side. Whoever took my rectal temperature always told to keep my head turned and look at the animal paintings and pictures on the wall. At this time, I would then feel their fingers reaching into the waistband of my underwear-shorts. From there, they would tell me to raise my hips up for them. Then they would then lower my underwear-shorts down my waist, over my bottomcheeks, and down my legs to below my knees. At this time, my bottom was fully exposed for the rectal temperature procedure. After this, I was told to layback down on my tummy and keep looking at the animal paintings and pictures on the wall. This was always done by my mom, all my older sisters, several of mom's neighbor lady friends, all the nurses at the clinic, all of my older sister's friends and their moms.

There were several times when my underwear-shorts were completely removed. One incident happened with my oldest sister when it was her turn to take my rectal temperature while my mom, and all my other older sisters were watching her. While my oldest sister was lowering my underwear-shorts to below my knees, she noticed the elastic waistband was worn-out. She said it would be easier for her to completely remove them, and less of a bother or stress for me while I was laying on my tummy while she took my rectal temperature. She then raised my legs and lowered my underwear-shorts to my feet and off. At this time, my bottom was fully exposed for the rectal temperature procedure. While my older sister stood over my naked body, she folded the underwear, and said she would get me a new pair after she finished taking my rectal temperature.

While my older sister was taking my rectal temperature, it did not feel any different than if my underwear-shorts had been left on and below my knees. During my other rectal temperature checks, I don't remember feeling my underwear-shorts touching me once they were lowered to below my knees. After my oldest sister was done taking my rectal temperature, all my other older sisters, said they wanted to practice completely removing my underwear-shorts like my oldest sister did. When mom heard this, she agreed and said it was a good learning lesson for everyone and said it would be a good idea to practice this for the future. She said it would be a good method for all my older sisters to follow when they have their own children and need to take their rectal temperature.

For me if my temperature was taken over my aunt’s knee my undies would be lowered to mid thigh however if I was laying in bed or on the couch my underwear would be lowered to my ankles

Down to mid thigh at the pediatrician, except for one time when I was wearing a supporter. The nurse commented that I didn't need to take it off.

When using an athletic supporter, The anal area is not covered, so that makes sense. 🌡️

Hard to remember really. I just recall my pants (often pajama pants) and my underwear being lowered to around my knees. I never had to strip from the waist down. At least I don't remember doing so.
