DRY 24/7
First off I don't wear such thick diapers when out and about as I find them cumbersome and unneeded as a 24/7 wearer but for when I do need such a diaper (and I always have some on hand) I always turned to the Abena X-Plus, well not anymore. I have found a new diaper for this requirement and I like it so much I thought id pass on my initial 'review', but please feel free to try them out yourself, I can assure you that you wont be disappointed.
for anyone considering a change in brand or maybe looking for a first brand I can honestly recommend going with the Dry 24/7 by DryCare. I have tested this diaper out the past week and it is by far the best diaper on the market in my opinion. (keep in mind I have been wearing Abena for quite a number of years) it is better than the Abena X-Plus in just about every way. in fact the only thing that I think the Abena has an edge with is price (of course that's due to wider distribution and better brand recognition). it is just about as thick as the X-Plus, (really only a tiny negligible difference) just as absorbent, has just as good PH and odor control, absorbs just as fast, has leg gatherers, good strong tapes (two on each side) feels great & fits wonderfully, has an elastic waist band in both front and back (abena only has a waistband in back) you don't really know just how big a difference dual waistbands can have when it comes to a comfortable secure fit until you've used a diaper with them. and the biggest plus in my book, it has the softest plastic outer layer of any diaper on the market, period.
I found that after about 10 hours (mind you I don't normally wear a diaper this long) I had no more bunching than the X-Plus. what I did find interesting is that the front had no stretching or 'warping' is that he right word? of the side panels or the front waist band (unlike the X-Plus) it stayed securely in place and had no problems with tapes coming undone. I work at night and I do a lot of up and down motion (on my knees, kneeling, standing up, squatting down, bending, lifting, etc.) and had no problems what so ever. I also had no problems with leaking (or leaking due to pressure ie: sitting) it had about as much sag as one would expect for such a diaper, I think slightly better than the X-Plus in this regard. the outer layer as well as the inside layer are so soft and itch free that I had no problems what so ever with comfort during extended wear, unlike the X-Plus which can at times become uncomfortable. despite its thickness I found it to be a fare bit quieter than the X-Plus(I know this can be a big plus for some) I imagine that is due to the unusually soft plastic outer layer. it was actually a bit more discreet than the X-Plus overall despite being nearly identical in overall size and thickness. all in all it is a wonderful diaper and more than up to the task, Abena should watch out.
it comes in only two sizes small/medium & medium/large. I don't really like the purplish color of the medium/large but it fits better than an abena and if you wear a medium or large in abena (I wear medium) it will fit great ill put money on it. it has a problem with bunching up in the middle like all thick 'overnight' or 'long wear' diapers, the X-Plus included so I cant really knock it for that. but wow what a diaper! its the first diaper I have found that can honestly compete with the X-Plus. I encourage everyone to try a sample pack of two diapers $5.00 or $10.00 for canada. and you get that cost back if you order a case. I have just ordered two cases myself.
just to be clear I am in no way affiliated with DryCare just a newly satisfied customer passing along my thoughts,
