I have not been blessed with a kink-friendly doctor, and due to my location there aren't that many to pick from.

Glycerin is hyperosmotic, so it will pull water from the body. This could lead to dehydration or, depending on total volume in the colon, potentially some damage there because the volume will increase as time goes on.

Studies have also shown inflammation caused by 50% glycerin enemas. It was more diffuse than phosphate, but still present. I don't know that there is any information on the effects of that, but it has been noted.

Perhaps the resulting solution would be completely uninteresting, though...

All extremes—of recipe, volume, temperature, frequency etc.—carry risks, and your proposed regime is absolutely a risk. It is significant that medically prescribed pure glycerin enemas are very small volumes, typically under 100mL, and that larger glycerin enemas are diluted with a considerably larger volume of water.

Due glycerine being highly hyperosmotic, you will not be able to take, I guess a quart, unless using balloon nozzle. But that would be dangerous as your body would be 'pumping' water into your colon same time you pump glycerine in.

As well, pure glycerine works really strongly, no needs for high volumes.

Just try 50ml delivered by syringe or small bulb and you will see.

IAll real glycerin is a relatively viscous, clear liquid made from vegetable fats/oils like olive oil, canola oil, coconut oil, etc. Synthetic glycerin is made from petroleum is an entirely different chemical and is a jelly-like consistancy.

All pure glycerine should be just glycerol - chemical name actual compound - is a clear liquid. It does not matter whether it was produced from vegetable oil or petroleum, it is the same substance with same physical properties.

The real world difference would be due to the simple fact that rarely anything is sold in 100% pure form and in most cases there are contaminants from production process, packaging etc etc. Common sense suggest that glycerine produced from vegetable oil would be safer to use for enemas that one produced from petroleum because of potential contaminants.

Have you tried glycerin before? Generally, the 3 cc (mL) delivered dose of the Fleet liquid glycerin product is potent enough to overwhelm even the most anal retentive person. When 10 mL is used, uncontrollable evacuation usually starts within 60 to 120 seconds, and continues for upwards of 10 to 15 minutes. It typically causes a lot of discomfort, and if used, someone remains with the patient until the person is back in bed and wanting to just sleep.

Attempting to use a four-litre solution of 95% glycerin will likely result in a visit to the emergency room. Onset of the urge to evacuate will take about 15 seconds after starting the solution, and by 30 seconds the person will experience a strong urge. With the volume that could be administered in 60 seconds, the person will likely be writhing with severe pain and in two minutes will be groaning in a fetal position.

Enemas are not without risk, and using additives in amounts that induce spasms carries a high risk of causing vasovagal syncope, in short, you faint. Don't try it.

Liquid glycerine is often sold diluted, I saw anything from 15% to 50%. Often, when sold as cosmetic product, there is no information about percentage either. Look for products with proper labelling and list of ingredients, the latter should be glycerol/glycerine only.

And there is common misconception that Fleet enemas contain glycerine, they do not, The active ingredients are salts.

There are Fleet Laxative Liquid Glycerin Suppositories - small 0.25oz vs 4oz for typical Fleet. Those are glycerine. However, not sure whether it's pure or diluted.

"Isotonic" rates for glycerin would be difficult, as it is not naturally present in body fluids and I have not found a complete explanation of how it works as a laxative. It's possible that "isotonic" glycerin would still provoke a laxative response.

Fleet enemas are phosphate, but frequently the packaged-style enemas in Asia are glycerin and water (50/50). At one point I did see a study comparing the two, I can't completely recall but think it might have indicated that the glycerin ones worked slightly better for their criteria.

From personal experience, I can say that pure glycerine work extremely effective. As @Victoria1951 stated even small quantities work fast.

I experienced 50ml on number of occasion. Initially there are no unusual sensations, but then suddenly it feels like one's rectum is extremely full and often even before one can fully realise, expulsion is already happening. It is very intense experience, feels like one is about to poo all guts out, but all effects are not continuous, more like waves, and usually were over in 10min or so.

Vegetable glycerin is glycerin that was sourced from plants, most glycerin is sourced from plants but some is manufactured synthetically. Glycerin, regardless of it's source is glycerin and would be indistinguishable as to it's source. It is available from DudaDiesel.com under all chemicals and a gallon will cost $15 and change, it is USP grade.

We have used it for years, drawn into a 15ml syringe it inserts nicely and in short order you will ask for an enema to dilute it. Seems more effective if you follow the 15ml of glycerin with a like amount of water.

The wife and I will tease each other by inserting glycerin and water, then mixing up some a salt, soap, and soda solution and filling the enema bag intentionally taking a few minutes of time to do so. The threats of retaliation when the roles are reversed are in good play.

I buy vegetable glycerin at a health food store and use it for my enemas. A small amount fifteen or twenty cc or ml. works faster than suppositories and cleans out the rectum for other enemas to follow.

I buy glycerin by the gallon (usually through Amazon). Interesting side story. I started getting additional recommendations for vaping supplies after ordering the glycerin. It must be one of the carriers in addition to propylene glycol used for vaping.

I've never taken a 100% glycerin enema. The strongest mixed concentration I've ever taken is 30% and it gives a very strong peristaltic contraction reaction and produces nausea (for me) at that concentration.

The closest to a 100% glycerin enema I've taken is one where I poured a 300 ml bottom layer glycerin in a clear bag and down the hose and then topped it with 2700ml warm water and not mixed. I didn't warm the glycerin above room temperature and it is a slightly thicker and more viscous liquid under these conditions. Although there was some minimal mixing at the interface between the two liquids, two distinct layers were visible. I used a double balloon nozzle and made sure it was well-seated inside me and provided a great seal, inside and out.

When I opened the clamp, I could feel the cool glycerin enter my rectum above the balloon and fill my rectum and overflow into my Sigmoid colon. I could also watch the glycerin layer slowly descend in the bag and travel down the hose. I could feel when the warm water finally reached the end of the nozzle because I could feel the temperature change in my rectum and then spreading throughout my colon.

I cannot tell you whether the inflowing water pushed the glycerin layer forward and further into my colon (plug flow) or whether the turbulence around the nozzle tip had the water and the glycerin mix. It was probably a combination of both. I do know that once the water reached the nozzle, the flow rate increased dramatically and I stirred the water in the bag to blend the glycerin that was clinging to the bag wall with the water remaining in the bag. I'm fairly certain that the glycerin on the hose wall was swept along by the flowing liquid. The bag and hose was completely drained in five minutes (it took two minutes for the glycerin to drain into me).

From everything I had read, I expected an almost immediate reaction and was a bit surprised that I didn't have a strong reaction to push the pure glycerin or high glycerin content liquid out of me. but the whole bag was inside me and I felt something else that was really interesting. I could feel what I describe as a tingling sensation in my rectum. It wasn't a burning sensation but over the period of the next few minutes there was an increased intensity to this sensation. I also started to have the contractions in my colon that were further up and in my descending and transverse colon. They were intense but not painful as they tried to force the liquid out of my ass and the balloon nozzle was keeping that from happening.

The intensity of the stimulation of my rectum increased and it felt like the muscles of my rectum were trying to squeeze down on the inner balloon to either force it out (or pop it). There was a check valve in the line and so the enema could not flow back up the hose and towards the bag and The inner balloon was firmly seated in my rectum. I had used only enough lubricant to make sure the balloon went through my anus on the way in. I had no desire to have it be slippery enough to slide out of me. After about 5 minutes of this building intensity in my rectum, I finally decided to lower the pressure of the inner balloon. I didn't leak right away because I didn't deflate it. The tingling got more intense and I relieved a little more pressure but I remained pretty well sealed. That temporarily relieved the intensity of the tingling in my rectum. A minute later it was just or more intense than it had been and I decided to deflate the balloons and pull the nozzle out of me. Only a small amount of the enema leaked out and it was most glycerin from what I remember.

What happened next was completely unexpected. I realized that my rectum muscles were contracting and closing down my rectum. The sensation was like every nerve ending had been turned "on" with the pressure equivalent of feeling a hot enema in the rectum. I could also feel what felt like a cramp, a real cramping of my rectum. I've had rectal cramping before, associated with diarrhea, and it felt a lot like that. My reaction to the high concentration of glycerin was the stimulation/sensitizing of my rectum to the point where it "closed down." In the meantime, all this liquid was churning around further up my colon and there was very little being forced out through my rectum (a little squirt and dribble). Most of the three liters of liquid were trapped above my rectum which was closed down.

I couldn't even insert a small diameter straight nozzle to try to dilute the glycerin concentration in my rectum. Pain and pleasure. My rectum finally started to "relax" after about 20-25 minutes and the enema began to flow out of me. As soon as I could get a small nozzle inserted to allow a warm water rinse enema to get into me and start flushing out and diluting the glycerin, I did. My rectum was highly sensitized by the glycerin but eventually after about the third plain water enema, I could get one of my slightly longer and deeper small diameter nozzles in deep enough that the tip was at or above the point where the glycerin was first introduced into my rectum. By the time I completed the last rinse enema, the expulsion was clear and only slightly tinted at the end. I was well-cleaned out.

I get a similar reaction with a well-mixed glycerin enema that is in the 25-30% range. My "sweet spot" is an enema of 3.0 liters with 10% glycerin by volume and 10 grams of Ivory soap per liter. It produces a very cleansing enema with plenty of colon contractions that can lead to what feels like an anal orgasm (it originates deep inside me more to the center of my back and radiates out from there) and is different from my "normal" cum producing orgasms. It doesn't happen all the time with this combination and it is tough to hold the enema. But, when it does, it is wonderfully satisfying. The longest I've been able to hold one of these enemas and ride the waves of anal orgasms is 86 minutes when I finally went over the edge with both the deep, internal anal orgasm along with an ejaculatory orgasm. I don't know what made that enema so special. But it was wonderful.

I have used vegetable glycerin occasionally in an enema. I use the exact formula you use 1 tablespoon per quart and I always use two quarts of water so I use 2 tablespoons of glycerin. Its just the right amount for me a gives me a good clean out. A interesting thing about glycerin is that it is heavier than water. I have a clear pyrex container I use for the water and when I add the glycerin to the water after its filled I can see the glycerin sink to the bottom and then it starts to enter the hose and it displaces the water in the hose back into the container. So when the the glycerin enema starts to flow all the glycerin is going in first, and that's why they go in very easily.

When I was 10 -12 years old and my Mom didn't have time to give me my usual large soapsuds enema she sometimes gave me a small 1:2:3 enema of 1 oz. Epsom Salts, 2 oz. glycerin and 3 oz. hot water using a bulb syringe. This was at the suggestion of my best friend's Mom who gave them to her 3 kids and said they're very effective. They certainly were. It gave me strong cramps in my bowels as she forced me to hold it in for 5 minutes and caused an explosive evacuation as soon as she let me go.

Earlier today I used pure (99.5% anhydrous) glycerine obtained from major supermarket chain. Since it was thick, oily liquid I assume that it was in fact pretty pure.

Due to way glycerine works, in 2 hours before using it, I drank about 1.5qts of water. And then 30min before I had normal bowel movement.

I used 15ml - 0.5 fl oz injected rectally. First noticeable effects appeared after about 2min - sensation of liquid gathering in rectum. Then after 30 sec sensations of liquid movement in rectum and colon. 3min after application first urge to expel and cramps, and from 4min after application the urge to expel became almost unbearable, it took a lot of effort not to. Eventually, after about 5min 15sec I had to give in expel.

Expulsion was very strong, watery and pretty quick. Less than minute later one more, very small followed by another one.

It was definitely one of most effective and fastest working solutions I have ever tried.

I may be the outlier here, but I love mixing in about 1/2 cup of liquid glycerine into 2 liters of enema fluid. I let it fill myself at a pretty rapid pace, but always using a super large retention plug. The cramps are perfect though even with a plug, can only hold for max 5 minutes before I have ot expel. It generally cleans all of the major debris deep out of my guts in one swipe. My second 2.5L saline enema almost always slide in 30 minutes without much effort. Would love to find a second/third enema that would let me take a bit more, but being super skinny, I guess there is not much more extra room in there!
