Did mom get off on giving you enemas

Get off? I have often wondered. My mother certainly didn't mind giving them, and maybe enjoyed it; but I would not go as far to say she "got off." I will never know for sure.

As Buddy55 said; "I don't think she got off on it, but I do believe she took pride in her ability to give a good and effective enema."

She seemed to know when an enema was needed. She never forced me to take more than I thought I could hold, knowing that even a couple of bulbs was usually enough to promote a bowel movement. A complete end to end cleanout was not her goal, just enough to relieve the constipation. I guess that is why I learned to like enemas.

I never realized it while growing up when our mom and dad gave enemas to me and my 2 sisters for as long as we can remember. We got enemas mostly every Dad prepared and held the enema bag over the bed where the 3 of us got enemas mostly every Saturday morning for as long as we can remember.

Im 45 yrs old now but wonder if others had similar experiences growing up?

My mother gave me enemas in her wet rubberapron and me lying on a red clinical,natural soft rubbersheet...every week when younger....in the age around 6...first I hated,and ejacted the suppos......she gave my claps with her hand,so I had to hold the suppos inside me........ nice rememberance now

We never got enemas on a certain day and it was always the doctor That decided if we needed one. Mom would either bring us to the doctor to get checked or Later she would call and it would be suggested over the phone. If you stayed home from school with a stomach ache usually by noon you would be on the bathroom floor getting an Ivory soap enema. Mom followed the doctors orders to the letter.

I think, as several other posters have already mentioned, that mothers living in the thirties and forties just accepted that it was one of the duties of motherhood to give their children enemas whenever they felt it was necessary. I definitely recall during my childhood days that whenever one of us kids ever complained about feeling under the weather, the first question from my mother would be, "Do you want me to give you an enema?" It was usually a rhetorical question, because whoever mentioned not feeling well got one anyway. If anybody had thrown up, Mom would skip the question phase and just do it immediately.

Even though Mom gave me many an enema, I know for sure that she did not get off by giving me my enemas. In fact, I think she thought I was a pain in the butt because she had to do it. I was born early and had a problem with my large intestine requiring the use of enemas. As I aged, Mom realized that I was developing a certain type of enjoyment from her giving me enemas and I think that began to concern her. When I was about 10 our family doctor became ill and had to give up his practice. His replacement was anti-enemas and he told Mother that she was to stop giving me them immediately. So, Mom did as the doctor had ordered. The enema replacement was oral laxatives, Mom was given several suggestions among them were Children's Castoria, Milk of Magnesia, Ex-Lax or Epsom salt solution. I hated all of them especially the Castoria. I would literally beg her to give me enemas again! Prior to our former doctor's illness, Mom used a small red bulb to give me my enemas with. But, a neighbor girl told me about her Mom giving her an "adult" enema with her douche bag and that she really liked it. She encouraged me to ask my Mom to do the same to me. So, I asked Mom for one. In fact, as I have said in other posts, I begged her and even enlisted her Mother to help convince her to do it. Well, thanks to my Grandmother, Mom relented and using a new Rexall Victoria Combination syringe that Mam-Maw had bought her for that purpose, she prepared me my first adult enema on a Saturday morning. I remember that I was sleeping soundly hen she woke me up by tickling my neck. Once I was awake, she pulled me out of bed and led me into my bathroom, which was beside my bathroom. Once I was in there, I saw that she had prepared me an enema and that the enema bag was hanging above the toilet. I, for some reason, became embarrassed and slipped out of the room leaving Mom in there alone. Soon Mom hollered, 'Mike, if you want me to give you this here enema, you'd better come back in here now, or I am going to take it down and if I do, I do not want to hear another thing about you wanting an adult enema!' Well, I went back in and Mother did give me very first adult enema! Did Mom get off? No way! She hated the whole thing and if it hadn't been for her Mother I doubt seriously I'd have ever gotten one from her!

As I look back, the women who have given m enemas enjoyed it immensly. I have had them tell me how much they enjoyed controlling the nozzle and the power to urge you to take a full volume. Those who would milk you as you retained the enemas definitely got a thrill, being able to demand a visible result. Women love to make a man cum against his wishes...

My mother gave me and my sisters regular enemas up until we were around 10. Seems that I got them more often and I definitely believe my mother enjoyed (maybe didn't "get off") giving me enemas. Sometimes for no reason. Once she had all three of us lay down on rugs bare from the waist down. Using on e enema bag (and one nozzle!) she gave us each about a half quart. Then she decided who got to go the the bathroom first. Guess who was last..... Another time I got a large volume enema from her - don't know how much. We were watching g M hilton Berle and my sisters mad a "throne" out of pillows for me to sit on. I had to make several trips to the john and they cheered each time I came bac. Funny how vividly I remember this.

I am the middle of 3 girls and we all agreed that our parents enjoyed giving us enemas. I have a gf who said the same when she got enemas. After reading post here, I realize that's more common than I thought!

Mom would give us enemas, it seemed, at the drop of a hat, however she didn’t have a regular schedule, just when she thought we need one. If she did one of us, she did all three, she always said, “if I have to do one, I might as well do the other two, while I have the bed setup for giving enemas.” Anyway, as kids even into our teens, we never saw her give herself an enema. I did get up late one evening to use the bathroom and found her douching in the tub. She told me, to go ahead and do what I needed to do. I ask her what she was doing and she said, “girls have to keep the front part clean, like I keep you and your brothers back part clean. Never crossed my mind to ask about my sister’s front part. We saw each other getting enemas all the time, but never saw my sister get her front done. Best I recall, I was 9 or 10 when that happened. Years later when enemas came up in conversation, I ask her if she used enemas and she said, “I hate enemas.” I replied, “well you sure gave them to us enough.” She replied, “between your grandmother and your pediatrician you three got your share.” One thing our RN grandmother told us when she taught us to give ourselves enemas, was how good we were about taking enemas, unlike our mother,who hated them.

I have no indication whatsoever my mom got off on giving me enemas . She would set me up with the water flowing & sometimes even leave for a while .

Interesting question because my mom never gave me enemas or did anything to me - always had my dad do it. Yet, she was the one who was into enemas, taking them at the drop of a hat. My father never took them - but was good at giving them to me, as well as finger checking me often.

Never got enemas from Mom,😞 but she took them a lot because the bag was always drying on the back of the bathroom door. She could have been douching too because both nozzles were on top shelf in medicine cabinet.

No, I don’t believe mom got any gratification from giving me an enema. We had a doctor who did house calls and that old fart would prescribe an enema for everything from a cough to a hangnail. After his visit, mom would dutifully march us into the bathroom, fill the bag with soapy water, bend us over the tub, push the greasy nozzle into us, release the clamp, and hold us down while the entire bag flowed into us. We howled, complained, and told her that’s enough to no avail. You’re getting the entire bag.

Only thing I still wonder about is why mom would announce to the entire family when she was going to “give herself an enema”. I always wondered why she thought we all needed to know that. Perhaps she was simply assuring her privacy.

I believe that, for most of these mothers, this gratification is not of a "sexual" nature, but rather due to the fact of exercising "control" over her child.

We know that an enema's administration involves on the one hand the trustful submission of the receiver and on the other the full control by the giver. We also know that the tendency to exercise any kind of control over her children is instinctive to every mother, therefore I believe that she feels gratified in exercising such an intimate kind of control as the giving of an enema.

I fully agree with these words. I don't think most mothers are sexually aroused by giving their children enemas. But it gives them a sense of power and it gives them pleasure. This applies to other activities: applying suppositories, measuring the temperature in the rectum, being during a medical examination when the child has to undress, spanking.

This especially applies to mothers of boys. I once talked to a friend (female) about measuring temperature in the rectum. I said that I had read that mothers measure boys longer than girls (boys are older than girls). She said it meant a sense of power. She has two daughters. She said that if she had sons, she would have to show that she was in charge.Enema is one such treatment.

As a child, I was always given an enema due to constipation. However, I remember the mood accompanying this procedure. My mother decided to give me an enema. I had to obediently undress and lie down in a position where my bare buttocks would be well exposed. An enema is not just a procedure but a ritual. The child must submit to his mother. A ritual that was a secret - I didn't like my mother telling others about it.

I really don't think so. Back in the 50s and 60s there was nowhere near the range of pharmaceuticals for treating ailments. My mom's arsenal was Vicks Vaporub, witch hazel, mercurochrome, band aids, terpin hydrate cough syrup, Pepto-Bismal, aspirin and a soapsuds enema. Mom used each of these aggressively to make sure her family got well. As for the doctor's house call I remember that when mom called his office the nurse would set up a time and also request that we got an enema before he arrived. The other part of that ritual was that we had to put on clean pajamas and the bed linen was changed. Bottom (sorry, no pun) line was that it is highly unlikely that mom got any pleaure from doing any of this other than assuring the health of her family.

I don't believe my mother 'got off' giving enemas. I do believe my mother felt deeply guilty, as a widow with three children, that she had to go to work full-time and neglected her kids by not being a full-time at-home mother. She was also very afraid of illnesses which might harm her children since my father had died at an early age of cancer - so she reacted quickly to any sign of sickness with the same 'cures' she was brought up with. Enemas being one of her primary 'Go-To' remedies.

Evidently she did a good job as a mother giving frequent enemas since we all survived childhood and all have grown old!

As I stated in an earlier post, mom didn’t get off on giving us enemas. But you’ve got to remember, enemas where a common remedy in the fifties and used for a lot of different ailments or maladies. Mom didn’t like getting enemas herself but sure gave us enough when needed. Most of the time, we pretty much knew when mom would give us an enema but there were occasions when she gave us enemas out of the blue for no reason. So, did mom get off on giving us enemas? If she did, we never picked up on it. However, moms two sisters were an entirely different story.

Grandma taught moms two sisters how to care for us as preteens and gave them the responsibility of doing our evening bath including enemas and the occasional spanking. Once that happened, it didn’t take us long to realize the girls enjoyed giving us and themselves enemas. In the beginning, they would makeup excuses in order to give one or all of us an enema. Grandma was a retired RN and a firm believer in enemas for both kids and adults alike. So, it was relatively easy for the girls, and we didn’t really mind because, like the two girls, my siblings and I liked enemas. The older we got the less the girls asked or said something to their mom about us needing an enema. Realizing it wasn’t necessary because grandma always let them give us an enema when they said something about us needing one.

Evening bath time at grandmas was made easy because of the big downstairs bathroom. It had a linen closet, dual vanities, long padded bench, toilet, and large walk-in dual head shower. Making it easy for the girls to put us in the shower together. To that end, both girls always got undressed just like we did. So, whenever they gave us enemas before our bath, they were naked just like we were. When this routine got started, they gave us enemas laying naked across their bare lap. The funny thing was, getting an enema laying naked across their bare legs always seemed a little on the naughty side. But at the time, we didn’t understand why. Then, as we got older, they switched to giving us enemas in the knee chest position. However, occasionally they still gave us an enema laying naked across their bare lap, especially after a spanking. Once the enemas were finished, the girls put us in the shower together, then got in with us to keep order while they bathed us.
