A bisexual society is an open society which society cannot be. It's impossible. It exists only to condemn. Children are already born traumatized, because coming out of the womb, all the existing sounds of the world irritate and frighten them. Therefore they scream. This is very much like a society - traumatized and screaming.

My generation seems to have hit it at a good time. Same sex couples are mostly tolerated or ignored as fuck it who cares. People younger than me seem to be more free in thier sexual investigation. I think its a good thing. Being a bi female I guess I am more fortunate than bi males . Even the Nazi accepted female bi sexuality and lesbian activity as acceptable if a bit deviant.

I have been taunted, verbally abused, physically threatened with a base ball bat, and had things thrown at me, most memorably a grape slushy when showing affection to a girl friend. No one did anything about it except point there phones at the sceen. So the hate is still out there.

No one can legislate hate away just make it have consequences.

Society is a scary place to navigate for any one especially if they don't fit in. As far as a bisexual society being an open society . How would it even be achieved ? Eliminating everyone that's straight or homo sexual? They have the right to be how they are too. It scares the shit out of me thinking about it. No that condition is just impossible.

Sexual acceptance is one aspect of a larger network. Power and economics , religion, social class status so many other aspect combined create a society. If everyone is a bisexual does not close the social standing gap or the power gap or create religious and race tolerance. It just eliminates one point of conflict. A tiny drop in the sea of corruption and inequality we live in. In a bisexual society will fat people still have to go to a speciality store to buy thier cloths? Yes, many people, many deplorable people, often hypocrites with hatred in their hearts do indeed really worry about other people's sexuality and make an incredible, huge, existential deal out of it. In certain political leanings, they are obsessed with it, enacting legislation that serves no purpose other than to show hate and make life difficult for those with other sexualities than the norm.

And this is happening around the world, in many countries.

Do not be complacent or fooled. Societies everywhere are slowly but sadly surely, swinging back to repression and disapproval. It's not like it was when I was growing up and people would still be jailed for homosexual acts. But I wonder if I'll be around long enough to see all that come back.

My son came into my life at the age of 10, his birth parents are very religious and had no use for a gay son. I did, all any children want and need is love and support, he found it here. He's now a wonderful man and in December I'll witness his wedding as his best woman! I could not be more proud of him.

@agracier i hope you and I never see the return of laws that would allow a human to be jailed , or worse for their sexuality. In my lifetime I've seen too much hatred and brutality in life. Humans are truly awful creatures. We are the only mammals that have a problem with homosexuality. And we claim we have higher intelligence. 😒

This would be a much nicer Planet if we could just give up all of our hatreds for those who look at things different that we do. I have never had anything against anyone because of their religion, their skin color, their nationality their sexual belief or any other way to single out someone. We are all human beings and those things that I mentioned, should not matter. YES, it is true that we are the only species that really bothers to worry about things like that.

As for my sexuality, I never really thought that much about it. When I first knew what sex was and that I am a male, I was first attracted to females. I still wanted to see nude males as much as I wanted to see nude females. My first sexual experience was with a female. It was not until a female who was Bi introduced me to another male who was Bi and wanted to have sex with me that I even thought about. I was very interested in at least trying it. I liked it and it was then that I realized what being Bi was all about. I do like both. As I have said in other posts, I consider myself to be about 20% gay and 80% straight.

We all seem to be to fond of labeling things and putting them in boxes neatly categorized and assigning traits to them and qualifications. How many people just assume I am Christian and love Jesus just because I am white? I bet lots and lots and they are wrong.

We won't. It's not in humankind's nature. In roughly 200,000 years, modern humans (i.e. Homo sapiens) have failed to do it. Why should it ever change? I'm not happy about this observation; I'm merely being clearheaded by realizing this.

We must learn to tolerate others who are of different religions, colors, nationalities, and other beliefs if we are going to continue. 200,000 years ago we did not have any weapons of mass destruction as we have now. I am referring to nuclear weapons. If we were to ever launch all nuclear weapons we would quickly make this a very uninhabited planet like Venus. Hot, Hellish and a Very Acidic Atmosphere.

In fact, it is my personal belief that the Garden of Eden was not actually on Earth as the Bible/Torah says it was. I believe that life in this solar system started on Venus and not Earth. We developed into what we are not here on Earth. Some people were lucky enough to escape and went to Earth. Earth was at that time able to support life as it does now. In the next 50 years we will do the same thing that we did on Venus. Some people will have escaped to Mars. At the present time Mars can support limited Human Life. We can make it a habitable planet like Venus once was and Earth currently is. If we do not learn to live peacefully on Mars, then we will be doomed to cease existance. There ae no other plents or moons that can support life, or be made to support life, in this solar system.

As for other solar systems, the Aliens from those other solar systems do not want us out there to destroy their planets and them. I do believe that they know how to get along and it is not our governments that keep them from revealing themselves to us. They keep it a secret that they know of us. Yes, there is life out there in the Universe that is much more intelligent and civilized than we are.

So where did the Dinosaurs come from and all those things in the fossil record come from that show evolution of humans? Your theory does fit some beliefs of others. Ever heard the term White Demon? It implies white people are demons and did not come out or from the same origin as non whites who are native to the planet.Therefore white people are not human. Well I can tell by this most recent post that the discussion got into the weeds a little. But in my experience the reason why male homosexuals are more stigmatized than lesbians can be distilled all the way down to textbook misogyny. And it isn’t to do with sex as a whole being deemed feminine, but being a receptive partner as being feminine. In Judeo-Christian tradition sex consists of intercourse between a man and woman. Obviously the man penetrates, the woman received. So using that as the template for “right,” divine-sanctioned sex, if a man penetrates another man, then the penetratee is taking on a female role. The misogyny comes in here because once you are like a woman sexually, you lose respect and are disdained for failing to behave as a man “should.” At least that is the origin of the stigma. For years I think the prejudice has endured simply because homosexuals, especially proud ones, are a small minority of the population and being different makes you a target for abuse. When you’re a woman you don’t face the same kind of stigma because historically you are already considered lesser. It is only the comparison to your gender that makes gay men hated. Also because you are wanted for your genitalia at the same time, by all straight men - including the ones that disrespect you - it is desirable for you to be adventurous or promiscuous because men like convenience and don’t expect women to be any “better.” So although lesbians don’t face as much antimosity, homophobia(or more accurately sexism) affects them in other, more indirect ways.

The double standard is an ignorant and unfair bias. I have enjoyed having sex with other men since puberty. A mans body is beautiful for having sex. Kissing, caressing, sucking a penis, penetrating an anus, having your anus penetrated by a penis are all wonderful expressions of our sexuality and should be respected.

Pre-Christian Rome differentiated between a Fellator and an Irrumator (or *trix if it was a woman). A Fellator gave a BJ in the way we think of BJs now - they were the active party. The OP mentioned how younger age groups are fine with being bi reminds me of a female acquaintance of mine who mentioned how great it was her two daughters could openly describe themselves as bi as did many of their friends of that age (which gives me an indirect clue about her sexuality too I think, but she can't be so open).

Also, when I was at university there were open rumours of several girls getting it together but not guys…although I'm sure it did happen (other than just me)

Kind of my feeling as well, and funny I should feel this way since I've had my share of dalliances.

We as a country have come a long way from the days when same sex couples were stigmatized, ridiculed, shamed and in some cases were the victims of physical violence. Now legally same sex couples have the right to marry and have equal legal status with married hetero couples. Same sex couples don't have to hide in the shadows whether married or not- their lifestyle is pretty much accepted by society as a whole.

But if you dig a little deeper, I still think some people who absolutely feel same sex couples should not be ridiculed and have legal standing are still quite uncomfortable on an emotional level with same sex relationships. I think this stems from people who grew up during the time where same sex relationships were ridiculed and shamed, which left a strong psychological imprint on them. This imprint still causes a negative emotional reaction or being uncomfortable when seeing same sex couples in real life or TV / movies. They don't want to see any harm done to same sex couples as in the darker times, but they still have a hard time feeling comfortable with it.

For those who grew up knowing nothing but societal acceptance of same sex relationship, they don't carry the negative baggage of the past and seem to accept same sex relationships as something natural and nothing to get upset about. As time goes on, they will become the dominate generation living as the older ones die off. History has shown that any type of discrimination can be slowly reduced and we as a society all benefit from these trends. People who have been discriminated against in the past and lived through that discrimination will acknowledge their lives have improved but at the same time it never really completely goes away. When it comes to peoples' attitudes and behavior nothing is 100%.

Since bisexuality in imagery, movies and the media in general is quite widespread and accepted, I suspect that all of this creates a general atmosphere in which women feel statistically more willing to take a try at bisexuality.

There is more social and artistic acceptance of female bisexuality and with this acceptance, more women will give it a try.

I would say it is easier for women to be bi. Looking back into the past let's say the nineteen hundreds. Pornography often shows women on women making out or more commonly kissing. It is sort of socially acceptable in the eyes of men for this practice to take place. Women held a very low social position equal with maybe a tad higher than the family dog.
