What you describe is the rule, not the exception and it is the same for women and men. Don't let oversexed people tell you anything different. They are lying.

After an orgasm is over, people generally need to stop. Very few people want continued stimulation after the orgasm itself comes to an end. The area is hypersensitive and needs to rest--the resolution phase after orgasm.
