What does a catheter feel like?

Was just curious what does a catheter feels like, and where to get them

I love the feeling of a catheter or sound or other probe being threaded down my urethra. A very good friend who is as kinky as I am wanted to try this. I got him an appropriate size catheter and tray. He inserted same and absolutely hated the experience. He tried a couple of more times. He still hates it.

Catheter feeling is pretty hard to describe.

The very first insertions can be a bit uncomfortable, but after some time, discomfort will last. After insertion, the first big notice is the "never need to go". The constant release of all fluid in bladder will totally relax all bladder muscles, and can also be arousing for some of us.

I'm cathed since a very long time, and feel so good. Now, when I'm not cathed I feel something going wrong, and really hate to be disturbed bay a urgent need to go!

If you never had med experience with cath, please be very careful! keep all thing as steril as possible, and while cathed, drink a lot.

How long can you leave it in for at a time? Can it get infected if left in too long?

Depending on the type of catheter and your stamina, some people wear catheters 24/7. There are some patients with spinal or other injuries that need to do this. Some catheter players do it just for fun. Most of us that play with catheters only wear them for a few hours at a time, or perhaps overnight. While we are wearing, we drink water and/or cranberry juice in an effort to help flush any bacteria after removal.

I can talk about my own experience. I'm cathed most of the time since about a year, and didn't had any UTI. I try to drink plenty water, and some cranberry juice. Acidity can help avoiding infections. But sure, drinking and having constant draining is a good way to limit UTI.

As I use latex caths, they are changed each week, sometime after a day off.

To all beginners, I only tell : be safe, and don't play if you're not really sure of what you're doing ! Better is to start with a experimented person!

It's an amazing feeling. Lots of lube your first time. It'll be a little uncomfortable, but that's the fun part!

Sharp sting as it enters, then steady sliding tingling/stinging sensation as it progresses then intense feeling of having to urinate...uncomfortable, sometimes a little pain, then relief as your full bladder starts to drain. If it is a foley and the balloon is inflated there is a constant sensation of having to urinate, ranging from light to intense. My favorite med play.

I agree, unconfortable at first, stings as it slids in, feels like you have to go, I always have trouble entering my bladder. And I never leave it in for long. Just me. The feeling of it coming out is intense!

Several years ago I had to wear a catheter for ten days and my cock was half hard all that time. My cock head was very sensitive and when I walked it felt good when the head rubbed against my boxer shorts.

I have to wear a cath a few times in the past few years. At frist they where a little on the uncomforable side. Now I enjoy them a lot. I play a lot with cath's and I have done the cath mod a lot that has been posted on this site. I use 18fr for the mod and wear a diaper with it. At other times I use larger ones. I'm now up to a 26fr cath that I can wear for serval hours with now trouble. I also use sounds and I'm up to a 33fr sound all the way and 34 to 35 fr most of the way. All I can say is it feel's just great to have a cath in. If my spouse wasn't so up tight I would wear one most of the time. I haven't had a problems with UTI"s as I use new cath all the time an drink plenty of fuilds.

The first time I was cathed was with a plastic type of intermittent catheter and it was not enjoyable at all...Once it was in place I thought it was rigid and just very uncomfortable....enough so that I dreaded the next time that I needed one. The next experience involved requiring a foley catheter and when I was told they were going to do it, I about came off the table because of the last experience.....this time, it was a coated latex catheter and it was like a totally different feeling. It was an easy insertion, very painless and once it was in place....hooked to a drainage bag for nearly a week....I found it to be really comfortable. I often didn't even think about it being in place. The Bard latex caths make it so much easier to tolerate and they can actually be quite enjoyable.

The urethra varies in width from tip to bladder, so certain places will be uncomfortable, others you don't feel anything but a smooth shock/tingle progress deeper down and your urethra being dilated and "filled." As it passes through the prostate area, it that feeling is more intense and can be tight. Stick with hydrophilic coated catheters, they don't irritate the urethral mucosa and cause painful inflammation and urination afterwards; try to stay flacid for easier passage and less friction.

I have had a catheter a few times, both in play and for real. For me, has never been a pleasurable experience.

The first time I was in hard labor and not progressing. The nurse/bitch (I can say that, as I am both), tried passing the cath during a contraction, which in her defence, I was having them almost constantly. She couldn't get it in, so they placed it once I was numb.

During the second pregnancy, I made sure at my very FIRST office visit that the doc agreed, and put in writing that during my second c-section the cath wouldn't be placed until after I was completely numb. And he honored that. Those were the only two real times a cath had been placed.

During play, 2 play docs have tried and failed. Not their fault. It's too painful, I tense up which makes it worse.

So for me, a catheter placement is painful. But, again, that's just me. lol

I find that catheters always hurt my patients the first couple of times. After that they know what is going to happen and can deal with the slight uncomfort much easier. If it hurts, a couple times, keep trying.

Foley catheter feels like you have something soft in a place that you do not usually feel anything. The insertion is painless and the extraction is a bit uncomfortable because the baloon leaves a bit of a lip when it is deflated. While it is in your urethia you don't realy feel much of anything unless you are wearing a diaper and then you just feel your diaper growing uncontrolably wet. You have O control over urine flow, it just flows constantly.

Its a stinging sensation as it goes in. Once in then it doesn't hurt at all. It hurts a little if you try to masterbate with it in place. Overall becareful, be sterilized. Ive done it 3 times and never had a problem. I find the thought of being cathetered is more erotic than actually doing it. That's just me though

I like 20 fr straight caths for play. Never left them in for very long. I've been cathed twice with Foleys for medical reasons. Hated them. Almost unbearable bladder spasms, even with muscle relaxers, and couldn't get comfortable. The 2nd time I went back to the ER at 1 AM and made them take it out.

I've been cathed once during a physical exam and a couple of other times for medical play. The first time is a bit scary because you're not sure if it's going to hurt. I does burn/sting a little when it first goes in but it feels damn erotic after that. Since then I've tried urethral sounds of different sizes. It's more fun though when someone does it to you. A lubricated catheter not too big for the urethra shouldn't hurt going in. Insufficient lube, narrow spots in the urethra or a catheter that's just too big, will hurt. There are sensations, that I could describe as pleasurable, and as it passes the prostate. For me, masturbating with the catheter is not necessarily the best, but a 'different' experience worth revisiting.

After having it for a while, hooked up to a leg bag, one notices a constant sensation, sometimes uncomfortable, of the tube rubbing on or pulling on the opening to the penis.

Often there is the intense sensation of needing to pee. There may be some leakage around the catheter as one gives in to the sensation and tries to pee. This intensely uncomfortable urgency is the worst part of wearing a catheter.

I enjoy the feeling. The only point I have of possible discomfort it getting past the bladder sphincter. A deep relaxing breath and steady pressure gives me a reward when my bladder drains. I like to have at least sone urine in my bladder to more easily see when it gets in. Sometimes removal is uncomfortable. I think the latex absorbs water and swells so that even after the ballon is deflated that portion is thicker. Perhaps the material is just still slightly stretched. Regardless getting that point ba k past the sphincter is sometimes painful.

I had tried up to a 24 fr. A 22 is good for me when infant to masturbate. A 16 is for practical use such as long car trips or when I just crave the feeling of having something up in me.

Two years ago I had a catheter put in for medical reasons. At first it was scary and uncomfortable. After a couple of days I began to get used to it. After a week I din't want it removed. To make a long story short, I have been cathed 24/7 ever since then. Out of all of the options they gave me it was the only one that appealed and I haven't been sorry.

I enjoy the feeling of a catheter going in, being in, and coming out. For me the secret is lots of lubrication. I buy catheter trays that have the lubricant in a syringe. Then I put the tip of the syringe in the urethra and inject the entire 10 cc of lube directly into the urethra. Then the catheter really feels good going in, and I love the feeling of it while it is in and it doesn't hurt coming out. I do not really have the problem of it hurting to pee after I take it out. So use lots of lube, sterile technique, and hopefully your will enjoy it.

@biddy- My partner and I engage in cath play all the time and we both enjoy it. You asked specifically about female cath play and I can say that yes, you can cath yourself and actually it is much easier to pass a cath in a female than it is in a male. That's because the female urethra is shorter and straighter than the male urethra. This anatomical difference can lead to an increased risk of infection so it is crucial that you educate yourself about sterile technique and use it every time you cath.

For anyone who's planning to wear more than a few hours.. Bowel movements may cause some light bleeding(especially if you 'gotta push') and if you are active with a catheter (walking, at work,etc) -- expect some occasional specs of blood.. Nothing to get freaked out over.

I've consistently done well with the Silastic catheters. They do have a drain-hole, so it does cause some irritation going in & removing(they are not smooth edges like silicone-coated latex cath's), but I've found them much more comfortable for walking around/work/etc..
