The first time I had a catheter in me I had no problem inserting or taking it out It felt great going in and no problem with it coming out. Yes the first time I urinated after it was out, I had a bit of pain the first couple of times, but after that no problem.
I really enjoy the feeling of a catheter in me and it makes it easy to keep my bladder empty. I take water pills which make have to pee frequently each day after I take them. I take them twice a day, so for a couple of hours, I have to pee a lot. My urologist gave me a pill to help me hold my urine, but the side effects are worse than having to pee a lot. I would rather have a catheter now than another drug.
I found that inserting a catheter was very erotic. I get really hard and when I insert the catheter, it feels so good. I like not having to find a restroom all the time and not having to worry about peeing my pants.
I have read this whole thread and there is lots of cautions about UTI's. All well said I have had a couple of them, not sure they came from my use of catheters.
I started with a fr30 and a 30 cc balloon. I inflate the balloon with fluid about 10 cc which is about right. I used to inflate it to 30 cc or there about, but was a tad uncomfortable, but the 10 cc is much more comfortable. I have not had any trouble deflating the balloon before removal.
After a few times of inserting and removable, I have not discomfort when I urinate after removable. I just wish I didn't have to remove it and I would wear it for a week or two and then change to a new catheter every 2 weeks. That would make life a lot simpler.
