Mom and first exam

Did any of your moms go with you to your first gyn exam like mine did?

I am a male and don't get OB GYN exams. My wife went with me to my proctologist ! Does that count ?

I guess it also depends on the Mother. Some moms can make the expreriance more horrifying then if the patient went through the exam alone. Some moms will help make it less horrifying.

I think that depends on the mother, daughter and their relationship. Usually the gyn gives them a choice.

Mine went with me as the doctor made her - he thought i would feel more comfortable - but it was definitely really awkward...she just sat there and tried to make small talk...

My mum went with me but she waited outside. I would have been totally embarrassed if she had been there when the doctor put his hands inside me for the first time. Ugh!

Not only was my mother present for mine, but she also brought me to HER exam a day or two before my first one so that I would know what to expect.

Both situations were unbelievably awkward but probably contributed to some of my fetishes today.

My mom did call here gynecologist and took me with here. But she was outside the exam room at my exam

My mom did not go with me. First exam was in college.

My wife's mother went with her on her first exam. She said that it was weird, but she was glad that she was there.

My mom goes there with me and stands next to me to make me feel more confortable i didnt like it the first time but i didnt want to be alone so that helped and it wasnt as bad with her there

My mom offered and I told her no way. I did not want her in the same building. That was a very private affair so I thought but my doctor decided that since I was not sexually active all he did was talk.

The next appointment she offered. I also refused. He did decide to do a pelvic and breast exam and I found it very stimulating.

My mom went with me for my first exam and that made it so much more embarassing- she kept looking at what the doctor was doing and asking questions

No mom at my first real pelvic exam. But when I was about 13 kept and was having unexplained lower abdominal pain she was in the room when I got a quick external exam in the frog-leg position (the doc spread my labia, ran his fingers through my budding pubic hair etc.) and a rectal exam lying on my side. I wished she had stayed outside but they asked her to stay in the room and didn't ask me what I wanted. In retrospect I think this experience really helped me develop my med fetish 😜.

Yes i mom was there for my frist gyno exam. she saw me tottaly naked.

My girlfriend told me her mother was preset at her first exam, and she didn't care...

My wife went with our daughter to her first gyn exam. I think it´s important that parents care about their childen according to medical issues.

My mom is the one that suggested i go (OK, more like made me) even though i wasn't sexually active and didn't think i needed to go at all. but she thought i should have my first full female exam and insisted i go. i didn't want her there at all, that would have only been so much more embarrassing. she stayed in the waiting room thankfully and i went in by myself.

My mother was an RN in an OB/GYN office so she had instructed me very well in what was to happen, why it was happening and the importance of an annual exam. Then she let me observe her annual exam about 2 months before I had my first exam. I was able to ask questions and get them answered well before my exam. She gave me the option of having her in the exam room or not. I opted to have her there.

The doctor who did her exam and mine was not the doctor she worked for.

Let me give you a different perspective. My daughter was 20 I guess and was having very painful periods. She had an appt with her gyn and asked me to accompany her. While I have a lot of knowledge (real life) this was uncomfortable for me! I had been to her mothers ob/gyn appts but this certainly was not the same. She asked me so I could help her understand the doctors diagnosis and solution! True Story!

My wife's mother was in the room for her first exam. I remember my wife was nervous at the time and her mother said, "If you have something she hasn't seen...then you really need to go!"

Yeah I had mum at my first exam and was very happy she was there as I was terrified at the time. Nevr had her go with me again but having there first time was helpful. Stayed up head end so to speak.

My mom has never accompanied me to a gynecological exam. I know so moms do go to the exams with their daughters the first time for moral support. Usually the moms just wait in the waiting room with them.

My mom went to the office but waited in the waiting room during the actual exam thaankfully.

My mom made the appointment and was right there with the doctor during my first exam. She's a doctor and chose one of her colleagues to do my exam. She comforted me, but spent most of the time watching the exam and commenting on my problems (I've had lots of female problems, including endometriosis). She did a lot of mine, and my sisters, physicals growing up so it wasn't a problem for me to have her there.

My mum took me to doctor, 6month after period start,at 12y, the doc , did, show me how to do breast exam,, then pelvic exam,he check vaginal,not do pap test then, the whole time my mum was in room, my mum took doc each year for physical exam, at 15 , I had period problem, so went doc,looked at vaginal,he did pap exam, inserted speculum, slowing, I was still virgin,It not hurt, but feel weir,my mum hold my hand the whole time, then did he inserted his hand wth glove, in vaginal,when he finish , was bit horn, I had gyno exam each year since then, year late I went on pill, ANY SISTER COULD TELL HAD THEY WENT THROUGHT PUBERTY???

Kind of on the same subject, I was 22 and in labour with my son, my partner was delayed in getting to the hospital, so my mother came with me, and stayed in the room through all my exams, including the internals with the midwife.

Eventually, she was also there to witness the birth, as I was with my own daughter when she was giving birth to my grand daughter..

It didn't feel strange at all, it felt natural, and brought us closer.

Wow - i see that some were not happy about the fact that mom is in the room and neither would I. The solution to this should be clear as well: either mom is waiting outside or the exam is not going to happen - simple.

I was like 12 or 13 when my mom was the last time inside the exam room and that was for a regular check I can hardly remember. My first pelvic was around 3 years later and - as much I love my mom - I would have showed her the door.
