Do you have Second Thoughts or Guilt about your MedFet Fetish?

Does anyone ever feel guilty about having this type of fetish? I don’t know, sometimes I feel guilty about taking this really noble profession and thinking about it in a sexual way. I mean, doctors spend so much time, money, and energy trying to help people and here I am fantasizing about them doing (for lack of a better word) dirty things with their power.

I don’t know, I guess that I just want to know if I'm the only one that things like this.

The "doctors in real life" is not a turn on for me. In a "play situation however I find it most arousing either as doc or patient. I don't think you should feel guilty, I reckon it's the power and being in control of the "real doc" which floats your boat. I fail to see a problem with what anyone thinks, it's what they do where certain issues could appear.

Over the years, I have dated several nurses and they didn't seem to mind using their medical training on me their date. In more ways than one, it's really fun having a medical professional take care of you

Wikipedia defines guilt as:

Guilt is a cognitive or an emotional experience that occurs when a person realizes or believes - whether justified or not - that he or she has violated a moral standard, and is responsible for that violation.

Guilt is only felt if we perceive that we have done something wrong, usually as a perception that we have hurt or harmed either someone or something. If you have not done so, then there is no reason to feel guilty.

I believe a stronger psychological influence which exists for any fetish, be it MedFet or otherwise, is shyness. If we lack the confidence in our social relationships we will tend to be introvertive and exhibit shyness in expressing something which we may later confuse with guilt because we are "different". Different may be defined by some as unique but acceptable, some as sick or twisted, and to others it is simply "different". Once we break down those barriers of shyness, often as a result of the discovery that we are not alone in our fetish, guilt is often no longer an issue.

At one time any form of sexual fetishism was viewed as a deviant mental condition which required psychiatric treatment to "correct". Today fetishism is something which we are coming to terms with socially, now becoming regarded as something to embrace as it defines part of our sexuality and personality as an individual. Role playing takes many forms from re-enacting the last voyage of the Titanic to playing doctor and if anything could be said it is that emulation is often a sign of true respect and admiration.

I understand what you mean. I am both a medical professional and a medical fetish enthusiast. The profession came first. I am also able to keep the two very much separated. The fetishism comes from being able to release a stress from the "power" dealth with during a work day.

I wrestle with this question periodically. One conclusion I have come to is that a true fetish can't be helped; it is an unalterable function of one's sexual psychology. Now, you have an ethical obligation to moderate it so that nothing illegal or amoral takes place through your fetish, but fantasy is by definition divorced from reality, so there is no risk there. The upshot is that if your fetish remains fantasy, no harm, no foul.

I don't feel guilt, but some embarassment, and very few people offline know of my fetish. There's a certain amount of fear that if people who aren't into it knew, they would think I'm a hypochondriac, which couldn't be further from the truth. I have a very strong aversion to going to the doctor for real. I definitely keep real and play separate.

I think everyone has some guilt if they stop to think what others might think of you. For instance, my wife has no idea what things I am into. If she found out, she would probably divorce me. She would think I was a sicko or something. Sex to her is dirty or fantasies to her are dirty, but they weren't 20 yrs. ago. Then I have a daughter that I sure wouldn't want her to know. So, yes there is guilt to some extent, how ever, you just keep it quiet and only bring it out when NO ONE is around. I have experienced both guilt and embarrassment for my medical fetish. My very first gynecological examination was embarrassing for me. Afterwords, I started enjoying being examined, and I looked forward to my doctor visits. I started feeling guilty because of the feelings I was having while being examined. I thought I was weird, because other women did not enjoy their gynecological examinations, or they did not talk about them. My husband helped me by being able to discuss the exams with me, and telling me I was normal, and how much of a turn on it was for him that I enjoyed my exams. My physicians have always been professional, and I am sure they they can tell that I am getting turned on. The physicians professional conduct is what helped me over come my embarrassment.

after all I was getting turned on by medical exams and medical exams deal with disease, doctors deal with disease and life and death. Well don't we all also deal with that?

Let's see one of my particular turn on: I love breast exams, and maybe if there wasn't breast cancer there wasn't breast exams - cancer is a very serious issue so it is all kind of illness or disease. This was a very good question, I think! Kimberley and amaral answered it very well, I think. I have felt guilt before as well, but mostly because I was doing something "bad" by enjoying something in a sexual way that it is not normally sexually eroticized. This site did help with that, as I can see clearly that I am not alone. I dont mean to undermine the profession at all, however, and I think that people who are properly into medfet will respect the line between and real and play medical situation- as shown very well by some of the people on this site. Even when your private and professional life mix, there is still a line to be drawn, and as long as that is respected, there does not seem to be a huge need for guilt on anyone's part. Like it was stated, as long as you are not hurting anyone, or yourself!

I don't feel guilty at all. The thoughts turn me on. I guess the problem comes in when you let the reality and the play overlap. Having a real exam must be a difficult situation for a female medfet. It must be hard to hide the arousal, and I am sure that real gyno's must have a hard time with lots of situations. I am sure most are very professional, but imagine what some tell their partners or their friends on a weekend at the club after golf ?

Hmmm...guilt not really...rather a feeling that I must be on the "weird end". However, something must have triggered our fascination for medical related things... perhaps a key event that we associate various feelings with.

What an interesting question! I don't feel any guilt about it, because, in my opinion, is a form of sexual play between two consenting adults. I keep it far separated from a real MD and I have never actually felt excited there, only in the fantasies afterwards.

I actually have a rather low opinion of the "real" medical profession through experiences with inept doctors, prestigious medical clinics where doctors down the hall from each other can't communicate with each other, greedy drug companies, higher likelihood of contracting a serious infection in a hospital than in a pig pen...

Being born and raised a Catholic, spending my entire education at a Catholic school definitely affected my perception of guilt, sin, good and evil. All my life it was drilled to my head that masturbation, premarital sex and sexual thoughts were mortal sins. You're human and not everyone processes these things in the same way. Given the criteria you've mentioned, it can be a hurdle to over-come, but I don't believe you should keep you from further exploring an interest provided it's safe for both parties. Some will feel it, and some won't, or something in between. In my experience, as a result of all the library reading to better my understanding, I think I was in a better position to help a friend who later had cancer. On the flip side, you can add to the kettle of thoughts that you're educating yourself on subject matter that most won't pursue. It might pay forward some day.

I feel guilty about my fetish and passion about med. procedures too. Of course I'm happy married man and all this stuff is only in my fantasies (sometimes), but still it is "guilty pleasure" for me.

I know what others are saying about feeling guilty about having this fetish. It is because people think we are mad or weird.
