During the next two weeks, Dr. Dawson began preparing detailed instructions for the loading of the new instrument and its use by medical professionals. She knew that some revisions would be needed after the first medical model testing, but she had to start somewhere.

With her recent training, she knew the Knee Chest position was the most important position to allow easy insertion of the tool and deposit the suppository deep in to the lower bowel. She also considered the making of a dual medication suppository with a small inner cavity filled with a second drug only released after the exterior shell of the suppository had melted. Dr. Dawson began to envision lubricant suppositories laced with some fast acting relaxant medication for her patients that were nervous about the soon to be administrated rectal exam. Such a fast acting suppository would be very welcome when trying to do an internal exam on a patient with a rather tight hymen. The young ladies at the girl's camp assignment would be a great place to test such items if the pilot model could be completed in time.

Dr. Dawson also made plans for the upcoming summer camp assignment including the thought that the new suppository insertion device might be ready in time for some clinical trials on the young ladies in her charge. It would be a perfect opportunity if the manager could speed the manufacture of her design. She even went to a friend who worked at a local machine shop. She gave Stella the drawing of the insertion nozzle and asked her to make up one in Nylon so she could test it on some of her current patients during exams. She said, “That nozzle is so highly polished a patient will probably not be aware of it being inserted, except for the increasing diameter as it tapers from the small end to the full depth insertion diameter. If there was a problem with the Delrin model, changes could be made and no great loss of time or material. I always document the responses of my test patients and will be happy to share the feedback as it may help to improve the design of the instrument.”

With the test nozzle now in her possession, Dr. Dawson began working on the final set of instructions to go with the new design medical instrument. That evening was a busy one as all her notes and current thoughts were sorted out and put into her type written document. With the completion of the document, proof reading could happen the next day, she was tired and it was time for a nice long hot bath.
