Badging into the gated community Tony pulled into the garage, smiling to himself. Mom was in Chicago for another day or so, so it's just Dad. Neither one of them liked to cook and eating the products could definitely be dangerous so he wondered where they'd eat.

Keying the door and tossing his laptop and backpack by his door he went to his dad's home office and leaned against the door.

He looked up seeing his son and smiled. Good day? Leaning back locking fingers behind his head.

Yessir.. Ran a couple of errands with Kim grabbed a drink and came on home. My throats getting sore.

Oh? That's interesting that you mentioned that. Need to talk to you about something.

Oh? Shifting his posituon a little and focused as his dad shifted a little. When did it start?

This morning. It's not bad bad but....

Well it happens that my physical is tomorrow afternoon and since you're an adult now i asked the nurse to pencil you in to meet Dr.J.

Oh? Uh...ok. Why?

Well, son, your mom and i know you can't go back to Kiddie Klinic. That's for kids. Her doctor just sees women. So, it's helpful to hang appointment in something you won't forget like a birthday. Since you just had one and mine's coming up... And if you decide to go off to school you wouldn't want the physical arriving in N envelope with Sccoby Doo...

Grins. Makes sense. Kimmy and i were talking about that.. She uses a girls doc as well. Oh?

Yeah. She goes to St. Pat. But she's in with this other doc that i hear is good. So... Do i get to miss school? Grinning.

No....chuckling I'm tied up til mid afternoon. If you want to stop by the firm we can walk. The doc's family has practiced within a few blocks of the building on Court for over half a century. It's at 4. Should i have them check the throat??

May as well. Now...about dinner...

True to form they had a pizza sent in and as dad finished his second beer Tony asked about the clinic.

Dr. Horne started out in that old building that's behind the ballpark they just renovated.

Then when it closed down they went over to the building over om second where George's was. His dad retired there and he took over. Now they're in the Crane Company on Court.

Wow! Long time practicing. Yep. Dr.J joined about five years ago and is damn good!

The office is sorta old fashioned but they're great docs!

He finished his dinner went to his room and studied calling Kimmy and fell asleep wondering about the appointment.

Five thirty the alarm rang and dad rolled out turning the shower on and going next door to his office and started the coffee.

He showered and emerged toweling his hair and went into the office to grab his mug when Tony entered pausing just a split second before he went and grabbed a cup.

The son of a Marine his dad had always had the discipline and mentality of the Corps. Married while he was in college they agreed the Corps was no place for a young family and Tony had mixed emotions.

As he reentered he was wearing shorts and a tank top about to cycle before he started his day.
