MALE Examination Prep Instructions

Do you give your male patients any instructions on how you want them to prepare for your exam?

For me, it's part of the negotiation. We discuss my desires and limits. I don't want to script the exam, but I do want it to be fulfilling.

If this question is raised for play exams, then absolutely establish the boundaries ahead of the session so that the flow is natural between doctor and patient. If for a real exam, no patient forgot the instructions given by the male assistant to use two Fleet enemas prior to a regular physical which, with this doctor, always included a sigmoidoscope. Anyone in the waiting room heard the instructions as well.
