These days, most of my diaper wearing time is at night while sleeping. I'll lay out my cloth diapers--usually an outer contour, inner thick contour and thick prefold folded lengthwise as a “soaker”--get out duckie diaper pins and plastic panties. Then a healthy amount of Baby Magic lotion over my usually clean shaved nether regions. Then into them I go. Usually I do this prior to going to bed but sometimes I'll go to bed without--only to wake up around 1-2 AM and want them and then get up and into them.
Nothing makes me feel more relaxed and secure than lying there going to sleep in my thick cloth diapers! And every time I always have a Nuk 5 paci in my mouth and sleep that way. Then later, nothing is more wonderful than waking up, paci in mouth, in warm, soaking wet, smelly cloth diapers and getting myself off that way. Then, usually, into the diaper pail they go (my diaper pail is a white plastic tall kitchen garbage can that's never been used for anything other than my diapers and never washed--so it smells wonderful with/without any contents). I like to then come back later, usually early afternoon, and slip back into them and enjoy them once they have had time to develop that wonderfully intense diaper smell!
But the paci is usually always part of it, the exception being if I want to lie there telling myself baby things ("I'm back in diapers! Everyone knows about my diapers! I love my diapers! Mommy I soaked my diapers!" or whatever humiliating thoughts I'm having).
And the paci has one other benefit when sleeping--the dentist has told me “Don't grind your teeth!” and suggested I use some sort of an expensive mouth guard at night. Well, a Nuk 5 paci works just as well, costs about 1/10 as much, and is about 1000 times more fun.
