I've used a pacifier at night for years, both to reduce LOUD snoring and because I like sleeping with it. I had a rather scary incident though, very late one morning in western Georgia, USA. The following is an absolutely TRUE story!
I was at the end of a 6000 mile drive from coastal GA to northern Nevada and back, and had planned to push straight through from far east Texas in one drive. However, I was getting very, very tired about 3AM and feared I'd fall asleep at the wheel. I turned onto a side road and found a small country church, so I pulled into the parking lot, parked, set up the pickup cab for a sleep and crashed out with my NUK 3 in my mouth. In no time I was sound asleep.
Suddenly I realized there was a light in my face and someone was knocking on the window beside my head. As I was aroused I found 2 Sheriff deputies were wakening me, asking what I was doing in the lot. I also realized that I still had my binkey in my mouth, and the deputies could certainly see that it was there!
I explained that I was just getting some sleep so I didn't drive off the road, but they told me I couldn't sleep there, that folks in the area were calling about my suspicious truck! They also asked me about the large rockets I had under the bed cap in back.
I told them rocketry was a hobby and I was returning from a national launch event in NV. They seemed a bit cautious about my explanation, but eventually accepted it. But they again insisted that I couldn't sleep there, and had to drive on.
Nothing was mentioned about my pacifier, and fortunately I still had my pants on over my diapers. I generally preferred sleeping in just a diaper, but had taken the precaution not to remove my pants. I KNOW they could tell I was diapered, as I was wearing very wet triple diapers under a pair of shorts, diapers which could be seen through the leg openings. Again, despite flashlights shined directly into my crotch, nothing was said about the diapers.
I was advised that I had to leave immediately, as they were sure I didn't want to be arrested for trespassing and taken to jail. I agreed, but asked where I might be able to pull off the road for a bit. "There's NO PLACE in this county!" was the reply.
I got the truck ready for driving again, started the engine, and left. I didn't see another place I felt safe enough to stop, so I simply finished the last 4 hours of my trip, and arrived safely at home.
Has anyone else ever had a brush with the law while diapered or using a pacifier or bottle? Tell us about it!
