Still, it would be nice to know about a gay doctor to consult now and again for less serious things. But I wouldn't know how to find one.
If this were my objective, how would I go about it?
(Now, "not being able to advertise" may make some of these options difficult or impossible)
Go to Google "gay doctor". Among other things when i did just now, I found:
Gay & Lesbian Medical Association,
http://www.doctorsdig.com/gay-doctor-ga.htm
"gay friendly doctor"
In addition, many doctors have their own websites. You could check in case they disclose about themselveson it, you know, like their educational background to interests/hobbies, and their might be a brief family mention. "I'm happily married with a wife & 4 children". Well, one might say "My husband Harold & I have been together/married happily for over 4 years".
Not sure if craigslist works outside the US. "Seeking male companion, preferably someone in the medical profession, between the ages of x to y"
And of course, go the word of mouth route:
Reach out to gay friends and acquaintances, direct and indirect, who live local. One of them is bound to know someone, or knows someone who knows someone.
Chat on gay oriented websites. Chat rooms and profiles. Start a topic thread "Anyone ever experience or know of a gay doctor?" In the chat room, go "Seeking gay medical doctor for pvt chat", or "I love being auscultated !", etc. And.check out guys' profiles. Chances are....
Grant it, with some of these "methods" you may very well need to weed out phonies. But nowadays, there are so many avenues to find what you want, whatever that may be. There are ways around not being able to advertise in certain ways.
And you can always find their business numbers, call them up and just flat out ask.
Some of these ways seem crazy, flawed, and may take a long time to work at, but I believe if you ever want to find someone of a certain type of anything, dig hard enough, something WILL come up.
