Did anyone get a gown at the pediatrician?

I remember starting exam appointments in my underwear. Towards the end they were removed, too. Then, my mother or the nurse helped me get dressed. I was subjected to more nudity when I had a six night stay in the "children's ward" of the local hospital; due to a hernia operation. Bare in mind this would have been in 1958. Things have changed since ten.

I always got a blue paper gown when I was a kid. I don't remember how old I was, but it was just a short one. I had to take off my top and bra. I hated those things. I don't remember not ever having one, but I have vague memories of just being in my undies too. I remember the doctor poking around on my belly, which always tickled. He always added in extra tickles just for fun. I remember him lowering my underwear and me stopping him.He didn't lower them all the way, just to the top of my pubic region. When I was older I remember getting full paper gowns that had a tie that went around my waist. I hated the paper gowns because they wouldn't stay up and they crinkled and, the were hot!

No, I was never offered a gown at the pediatirician.

I was told to take my shoes off and then walked down the hall to be weighed and measured.

Then back in the room I was told to strip to my underwear. Once I started wearing a bra, they didn't specify anything about it, so I chose to consider it part of my underwear.

When it came time in the exam, that came off and stayed off for the remainder of the exam.

Undies lowered as needed, then pulled back up.

What was the age range in which you were examined in your bra and panties at the pediatrician? Were you self conscious about the doctor and others seeing you in this state of undress? Were you fully developed? How did you feel when the doctor initially removed your bra, knowing that you would be topless for the remainder of the exam? Did the doctor examine your breasts? How did you feel when the doctor lowered your underwear? Did he examine your genitals or just visually inspect them?

Nope. Never, just had to remove what they were gonna examine.

I went to a Family Practice doctor as a kid. When I was little, it was just undress down to my underwear. I got to wear a gown when I was 14.

No gown for me. I was always in my underwear. It wasn't until I went to my internist when I was 18, that I started getting a gown.

@sensei1980 I started wearing a training bra when I was 11 or 12, but there wasn't much there and being topless at home wasn't a big thing at that point, so I didn't mind having my bra off. I was self-concious being in my undies before that age, but moreso after. I wasn't fully developed at 12, no 😃.

After I had developed some, yes I was embarrassed when the doctor had me take off my bra and remaining that way. He did examine my breasts; I imagine that's why he had me remove my bra. But there wasn't much to it the first few years.

I was embarrassed when he lowered my undies, but glad I was lying down, facing the ceiling and didn't have to see anyone else in the room.

It was usually just a quick look in front, but when I started getting more hair, he just slightly spread my lips on the lower part and it was quick; no touchy, only look lol.

Does that mean the doctor visually inpected your anus after examining your genitals?

As a kid I never remember ever getting a gown. Never actually went to pediatrician it was always a family dr. Lived in small rural area just had a few docs around and don't remember any specialist. When we had school physical was always clothed. Then when it came time for the turn your head and cough just dropped pants. And that was completed in few seconds. I have still never been given a gown at dr. The only time I have ever gotten a gown was times I have had surgery.

I don't know. All I know is it was pretty quick. And thankful for that because I was always very selfconscious of my butthole being seen. Still not a fan of the Dr seeing it, though I have no prob w/my bf seeing it.

It would appear that you are more guarded of your anus than your vagina. What makes your anus a more intimate area than your vagina? Has a doctor ever examined your anus? Are you open to anal play with your boyfriend?

Whenever I was taken to our family GP growing up, I never had a gown to wear. To be examined the doctor simply asked whichever of my parents was with me to remove my shirt until I was about 8 or 9 and I was then asked to take it off myself.

Never got a gown when I was growing up. For physicals it was stripped to my briefs. They would come down only briefly (pun intended) for a quick check of the privates.

I did hear from some of the girls in my class that they sometimes got a sheet to cover themselves up with, but I think this whole gown thing is a recent invention.

We bounced around between a number of doctors when I was a kid and gowns were rare, at least for boys (this was in the 1970s and 80s) but I did have them a small handful of times. I also had a few physicals where we were given hospital/exam type shorts. Same material as gowns.

I am now age 60 and never got a gown, last attending the group in 1974.

In the UK, as children we just removed the clothing covering whatever part of the body the doctor wanted to examine. It seemed as children the only complaint we saw our doctor for was colds, chesty coughs or tonsillitis so depending on who was ill either me or my two sisters were usually topless as our chests were sounded, tapped and prodded. We were always examined infront of each other up until my oldest sister began to develop. I was always fascinated watching my sisters having their chests auscultated, looking back it's where my fetish came ftom I'm sure.

I actually always got a gown as far as I can remember. It would have been much more embarrassing without one, (would have been a good thing) but I'm pretty sure I always got one

Never--like what many of the other guys have said in this thread. Nurse always instructed me to strip down to my underwear and wait for the doctor to come in. I remember it being really cold in the exam room and it seemed like forever before the doctor would knock and come in to start the exam.

Never got a gown until around 16

Up till last year It was a gown or underwear. I was a bit surprised that my last physical I was completely dressed. I asked the nurse if I needed a gown or strip down to my underwear. He said nope we don't do that any more. The Dr didn't examine anything, not even a hernia exam. She just looked at a computer screen and asked a bunch of questions.

Nope never had a gown but really didn't think I needed one, had underpants on and as a boy it wasn't an issue to have top half exposed.

My sister was also gownless.

In our family now had gowns for couple of years prob even from age 5/6 ish.

I do think it's much more likely to get gown at pediatricain now then in my youth.

I remember having a paper gown as a kid in the pediatrician's office.

At point my early childhood pedatrician retired and a new one started. The first time I saw him somehow I had the gown open in the back and I guess he wanted it open in the front. It seemed to really throw him off. He purposly made a tear in the gown in the front to expose the part of my chest he wanted to listen to, then, while I was lying on my back he ripped open the gown in the middle section to expose my abdomen. I remember him saying the gowns always get in the way and next time it needed to be open in the front. And every time after that it was.

At the pediatrician it was always totally naked from the beginning.

No as I remember ive been always in my underwear, first I had to take out my t-shirt to do the auscultation and the other things and then the trousers and stay in my underpants and socks

I only had gowns when I went to the hospital with my aelergic problems
