Assembling an Open Tube
Well! I stated above that I had an open colonic several years ago I didn't say that I didn't like it. He was correct. That one I didn't! As I write this post, it's 8:45 P.M. on Sept. 17, 2015 and one of my notions have changed. This afternoon, I obtained fifteen feet of 1/4 in. I.D. Vinyl tubing and a tubing barb to match my shower hose. I unhooked the shower head and screwed in the tubing barb and tubing. On the far end I put an 18 inch rectal tube. Now, the shower control, mixing valve controls the temperature of the shower so I can set it to any temperature I desire and leave it on. Between the shower pipe in the wall and the shower head I have installed a ball valve to control the water flow and shut off. What I now have is an open tube irrigator. The total out of pocket cost was about eleven dollars. The tubing barb came from my junk box in the cellar and the pressure controlling ball valve is one that I had installed a couple years ago.
Logistics and Operation
Operation of this shower tube t first is flyng blind. However, over the years I have had several thousand gallons of water irrigate may colon. This is just one more. I do not wish to expel in the shower and have a mess to clean but the toilet is five, or so, feet away. To start this colonic, I opened the ball valve just a crack and adjusted the temperature of the water to 110 degrees F and closed the valve. The rest is standard procedure for self administration of an enema which in many ways, this is.. I lubed the rectal tube and inserted it. The ball valve was opened to admit the water into the colon at a comfortable rate and I stepped to the toilet and sat down.
Sensations
The sensations are a bit different than they are with my closed tube machine. At first, I allowed the water to fill until I felt the need to defecate and a little push started the flow. That was strange with water coming in and going out at the same time. Then there is the sensation of water injecting and discharging while no attempt is made to retain it. And fills! The fills are the same as with an enema or closed system and somehow different..I felt that there is an option to tighten the anal muscles to fill with more water or relax and let it go. It is a different hydrotherapy from the closed system and I shall use it again from time to time. If you wish to do colonic irrigations,, this is a good way to do it. It's relaxing and enjoyable at home but I would not pay a practitioner to perform it. I have my closed machine and favorite practitioner for that.
