Honourestly speaking had been in and out of diapers/nappies as a child from the time of my birth until I was 6-9, and has the occasional accident or oops moment as I am autistic, and can't always feel the urge in time to make it to the toilets/WC
However whilst I never had any major issues with incontinence until I turned 30 back in 2010, since then I have returned to being in and out of this form of protection,
And since making the switch back I have mostly only used them for bed/night times or snoozing during the daywhilstvatvhome or in a hotel this is because I have an unpredictable bladder.
I also tend to buy diapers if needed when I am abroad or in a situation where I know that the nearest WC break isn't within practical walking distance or if I know the public toilets are usually fillfy/ unhygienic.
However now that I am padded up like I once was as a child all those year's ago I am no longer ashamed or even embarrassed because I have made the right choice in not fighting my body anymore as that only made things worse,
Plus the fact is that I quite like being in this padded form of clothing as it brings back happy memories from the past and they keep me dry & comfortable during the long winter months or just when ever I feel that I need a break from the world outside.
I hope this helps awnser your questions.
