When I was young and can first remember, probably around 8 and onward, my mother and grandmother, had me always take off my underpants/briefs when going to bed at night. I suppose I must have done so a few times and when they found out were quite clear saying it was unhealthy to do so. No constricting clothes on when sleeping.
Now when friends came over for a sleep-over, we usually both kept our briefs on under pyjamas since at that age I was the original wimp.
However in our house, there was never any question of walking around in the house in briefs. No sirree, Little Lord Fauntleroys didn't do that kind of thing, don't you know. Always had to be presentable.
Anyway, any idea what the purpose was of your doctor advising your mother to have you in briefs around the house?
I have no clue why. I know back in the 70's and 80's most of my friends and we did sleepover's a lot, we all wore our undies to bed and hung out in our undies. I am not sure if the doctor even told my mother to have me wear undies around the house. All I know is when I turned 12/13yrs old, and when the doctor spoke privately spoke to my mother and gave her that booklet/brochures, it was that time I went from wearing my pajamas to undies.
I went to school that day, when I returned my mother sat me down and told me as I am getting older that I am no longer have to wear my pajamas, that since I am turning into a "man" and no longer to wear pajamas and she bought me brand new white hanes brief undies and I had to wear them to sleep and hanging out in the house.
So when I got home from school. I undressed took off all my clothes and just wore my undies. At the dinner table, watching TV, doing my homework, sleeping in them and so on....for what reason I don't know but to this day, I still wear them, hang out in them and sleep in my undies.
Also, I think the fact my mother had mental issues as well and being sexual abused I think had something to do with it.
