This is just a brief run down of where I am now in my evaluation process. I still don't have Bambinos but I'm working on it. Plastic backing is just HOT in the FL climate but I will continue to try them and give as fair an evaluation as possible
Diaper Evaluation
Molicare Super, MD: Very thick, You will do the diaper waddle. No plastic backing, silent but very noticeable because of thickness. Capacity; very large, held all wettings all day without leaks, center super absorbent section becomes quite firm as it soaks up urine and swells. Also, lots of room in back for poop. This is the diaper I would choose if I was to be given a one quart punishment enema and then be diapered. Overall: excellent for overnight or for play but will be very noticeable under normal clothing except loose pants or skirts.
Wings Choice Plus Brief: Thin limited capacity, perhaps two wettings, no more. The absorbent pad in the front of the diaper separated from the rest of the padding and formed a wet lump at the bottom of the diaper. Plastic backed so no “strike through” leaks but well leak around the legs if flooded. Tapes hold well and do not come off by accident but cannot be reattached if separated to remove diaper. Plastic is very crinkly and loud enough to for people to hear the rustle several feet away. This diaper is very warm and after one wetting it will steam your bottom in warm weather. Thin enough to wear under regular clothing without being obvious. Overall: Limited usefulness, only for short term wear and where the crinkly plastic will not be noticed or will be ignored or enjoyed. Cannot be worn for long after wetting as the absorbent pad will separate from the padding.
Attends Breathable Brief: Not hot like a plastic backed diaper. Absorbs rapidly so little chance of a leak with a fast void. Moderate thickness, does not show too much under normal clothing. Absorbent lining is huge. Not as uncomfortable as plastic backed briefs.
Reassure Overnight Brief: Moderately thick and very absorbent. Tapes hold very well and can be re-attached after removal. Plenty of room in the seat for poop. Enough padding between the legs to produce a diaper waddle. Paper fabric backing is strong but allows good drying and cooling.
Tranquility Slim Line Brief: Surprisingly comfortable in spite of plastic backing but tapes did not hold long enough to evaluate this product. This brief was thin enough when dry that it was not noticeable under normal street clothing. The product felt soft and comfortable but I cannot tell you anything about absorption or holding capacity.
