Within the last two or three years, I have been using a colon tube for my enemas. I began with a rectal tube then a 30 inch and now am using one 48 inches. The beauty of the colon tube is that it delivers the water high on the right side, hepatic flexure, of the colon and can make your enema very comfortable with reduced cramping. For me, I like to keep the water high throghout the injection phase and find that the Reverse Simms position helps me do that.

There is logic in back of the Simms position is that the water enters the rectum elevated and flows down hill into the colon. However, after exiting, the Splenetic Flexure, the flow is up hill. With a colon tube, the water is delivered high where it belongs. Laying on the right side, Reverse Simms keeps it there.

All of this should led to a new high water mark because, "An enema a day keeps the Doctor away!"

That is why I always use a colon tube.
