Advertisement on Stirrup Pads

My wife said at her last GYN there was advertisement for a drug, probably a birth control, printed on the stirrup pads used to make them more comfortable. Anyone else see this form of advertising?

Yes. My wife (girlfriend back then), sent me this when she had one of her first pelvic exams. This is beforehand, while she was waiting to talk to the NP. I was sitting in the waiting room.

Yes, it seems to be fairly common. I've seen it at a couple clinics I've been to, as well as in various pictures on the internet taken by patients in the exam room.

Back in the good old days, pharmaceutical companies could give away "reminder items".. things like pens, post-it notes, and the like, to doctors. Metal stirrups can be cold, and for women who don't find this thrilling in a med fet sort of way, uncomfortable. Stirrup warmers were a nice patent comfort freebee that drug companies used to give away.

Unfortunately these branded goodies are a thing of the past, they were outlawed a few years ago.
