Before I put anything in my anus, I put some lube (I use KY) on my finger and put it in and move it around to spread the lube around. Of course, it feels good to put my finger in anyhow.
I start my 4 quart using a nozzle which is a dildo I modified. It feels good moving in and out. After I have put in a quart or a bit more, I take it out and put in a colon tube. I always re-lube my hole before I start putting the tube in. Sometimes I will need to lube the tube after it has gone in a ways also. What I have found is that if I try to put a colon tube all of the way in before the first quart, it hits the end of my rectum and will not go around the corner and up. Instead, it doubles back on itself and ends up right at my anus. Even with the quart in, I have to push sensitively or it will not go around the corners and doubles back on me, so do not force it. I also found that the two tubes that I used were too flexible and would easily double back, no matter what I did, no matter how carefully and sensitively I pushed it in. It could be very frustrating to put it in several times and have it double back each time. If I am suspicious that it has doubled back, I lube my finger and push it in and feel around. If all that I can feel is the tube going in, I am in good shape, but if I can feel the end of the tube also, I have to pull it most of the way out, leaving only 5-6" in, and start over.
To reduce the flexibility problem, I put four lengths of weed-whacker string into the smaller diameter one, and six into the larger one, That stiffened them up considerably, but I can still have troubles with it doubling back.
What I have to do after the first quart or so is to push it in until it sort of stops and then move it in and out until it somehow makes it past the corner. This is not all bad, though, because it feels good to have it going in and out.
I have a 60" (32fr) tube which I have put in all of the way, or at least I thought it had gone from anus to cecum, but now I think it probably goes in and doubles back on itself somewhere inside of me. I have a 48" tube a bit larger, and I find that sometimes it will not go in more than somewhere between half and three-quarters of its length before it refuses to go more. When I force it, it curls up on itself, which I can sort of feel, but when I am taking it out, I can really tell that it was coiled up somehow.. So, just experiment and find out how much really goes in.
I can tell you nothing about larger diameter tubes for I have no experience with them. Just try different ones and find out which one(s) you prefer. Be willing to spend some money on things that you cannot use after all in order to find the one that you like.
