What is your biggest fear when going for a real exam?

One of my concerns is that a doc can tell I'm anal receptive. Anytime something has to be done back there I wonder if it's obviously that I like, I mean really like, things being done to me! Now I'm not playing any games during exams and I really make sure I keep a blank expression and don't say anything - but still I wonder about any "tells" I give.

My biggest fear is the doctor telling me there's something wrong with me or even worst getting blood test or urine simples.

None, except drilling if it’s at the dentist.

Discovering that I have a terminal illness, or severe medical condition, that would drastically affect my life, is always a fear. I’m also finding that the medical assistant is typically lazy and disinterested in providing proper care, at the initial visit. They ask questions, but I always have to repeat them to the examining doctor, when in reality, the assistant should have already informed the doctor.

My biggest fear would be they find something seriously wrong with me. I tend to start worrying about that a few weeks before my annual physical. And now that a person is able to go online and see there lab and test results. I think it adds a little more worry and fear if something is out of range or abnormal.

I don't know about others? but for me it does. Until I can get in to see the doctor and have the results explained.

My biggest fear is that the doctor will find something wrong with me.

Like so many others something that is major and serious...cancer, health issues that are so bad it puts me in a care facility, or debilitates my body so much that I become locked inside myself.

My fear, like others have mentioned, is that the doctor is going to find something wrong.

Aside of the standard fear that we find something really wrong (or dentist visit in general), I always hope it's not a boring exam, meaning no genital exam. Then I have to wait a whole year until my next chance of exposure.

I've had some health scares over the past few years, so if something suspicious is found, that is a bit of a concern. And just being able to hang on during tough procedures, not faint or have a PTSD attack.

Last year, the doc found 8 polyps in my colon. Yikes! 15 years ago there were none. So now I am getting another this year. I am afraid there will be more. My colonoscopy is tomorrow so I am on liquids today. Between that, the prep, and my fear they will find more I am on edge.

@Srgfgahs I have a colonoscopy and EGD tomorrow. Hopefully nothing serious for both of us and we survive this damn prep. I don’t know that I can finish this bullshit!

I fear the "I want to put you on ___ to help control your ___" discussion. Because I don't want to ever succumb to the current fashion of being 50 years old and on 8 different prescriptions. I'm a bit overweight with slightly elevated blood pressure, but I really don't want to go on a drug to control anything.

That I will be required to undress: yes it turns me on, but also makes me very nervous/anxious still, I'm weird like that. Moreover, that I will feel cold while undressed and examined - I usually do, and same, I love it, but I hate it 😃

Based on my medical history: that they will see that something is wrong with me but will have no idea what's exactly wrong. So, they'd prescribe one more scan, one more ECG, one more ultrasound, one more CT, one more set of blood tests, one more drug...

My main fear is the doctor and/or nurse figuring out my sexual interests. I also have a PA and nipple piercings. I like to use catheters and enemas. I worry that they will question me about any of it and having to explain it.
