Oxygen masks

I am a mask fetishist in general. That is my main thing. As a preteen or so, I used to be turned on by scenes of a girl being given the anesthesia mask, which was usually black, and the oxygen mask, which was clear. As I've grown older, I certainly don't mind those scenes/moments, but my main fetish is when the female patient needs to wear a protective mask. Say, a disposable N95, a Respro, a yellow earloop, or a Vogmask.

One thing, that isn't really traditionally medfet, but is nonetheless a lifesaving measure, are those yellow passenger masks on airliners, that drop down from above. I saw "Final Descent" recently, an old airline disaster movie from 1997, and they had a few pretty girls wearing those.

What I kind of like is seeing the girl masking herself up rather than somebody else doing it for her. Something about her knowing it's best for her, and the same can apply to the oxygen masks discussed as the OP's topic.

Some people are discussing coverage area of the mask. I only like masks that cover the nose and mouth both. Not just the nose (mouth is fine, if the mask slips a bit).

And I don't like wearing them. It's somehow sexy on a girl but embarrassing on me.

I recently purchased an aircraft crew oxygen mask from eBay on a whim since it was really cheap (USD$30 shipped). I've been a fan of the black rubber anesthesia masks for a long time but, as a German mask enthusiast noted in his blog, many are not really designed for comfort when worn for long periods of time. If you are wearing one in a real medical situation, you are most likely in the process of being made unconscious so it really does not matter how they feel. Most patients do not even remember it. So I recently saw this rather attractive looking aviation oxygen mask on eBay and figured I would try it out:

It definitely has an interesting wrap-around feel while wearing it. You breathe in through the attached hose and you exhale through a little popoff valve at the top of the mask that oddly enough makes the same sound as the old dental nitrous masks. Also, unlike having an anesthesia mask lying around, which would be a rather unusual site for many people, there are many militaria and aviation enthusiasts out there who collect such items. A check of sold items on eBay shows quite a few military and aviation mask sales. So having one lying around or on display is not necessarily going to raise the same questions from curious individuals that having a black anesthesia mask around might (plausible denial!). Plus, it even has a microphone on it that I may try and interface to the PC.

I've worn them in a cockpit but not lately. I am on a Cpap machine now but just use a nasal mask and it is just ok. Full mask I have not tried

I love when wear that oxygen mask. It is because you have get clean oxygen and give you comfortable and relax. I have experience wearing that in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Emergency Room (ER).

I would love to have an O2 masked forcibly strapped on to me. Reminding me to just breathe.

I enjoy wearing oxygen masks, anesthesia masks, and even gas masks. I’m not exactly sure why, but I like the feel of the mask on my face, and the smell of both the mask and any “gas” that might be pumped through it. The look of a mask is also something of interest to me.

An laryngeal mask is another mask that is inserted at the hard palate and behind tongue using index finger as guide. It covers the airway and is then inflated with a syringe. A bag or ventilator is often used. EMTs often insert these. They do go in and come out relatively easily. I have put them and used them on myself to become familiar with their . I know of several others who use them routinely

I love oxygen anesthesia and dental mask. I enjoy wearing them but also seeing women in them. If anyone wants to talk about any of this I'm willing to talk about it. I'd like to talk to other people who are interested in this stuff because nobody seems to understand it when I talk about it

The only experience I had which included oxygen masks was way back when I was a kid. I had to get surgery and the doctors had to put me under anesthesia. However, I'm not a big fan of oxygen masks myself, and I don't own any at the moment. But I might or might not get one at some point just to add up to my medical equipment collection, though. It could most certainly make my future clinic look more realistic once I own more stuff!

I'm back on CPAP and love my total face mask and the feeling of enclosure that it brings. Sleeping with it, indwelling catheter/bed bag and light sedation is incredible.

With all the mask requirements for COVID-19, I had been searching for a solution to foggy glasses. As chance would have it, I stumbled across Kanshouzhe mask's. They are a plastic framed mask assembly that houses a KN95 filter pad and has a nice soft silicone rubber cuff. I find it very pleasant to wear and kind of lets me indulge in rubber mask wearing without attracting any odd looks as wearing a "Black Beauty" would (though I have found several articles online on creating improvised N95 PPE using anesthesia masks). A Google image search on "kanshouzhe mask" will show quite a few pictures of them. I purchased a black one and a gray one on eBay. Many different vendors and you should avoid paying more that USD$11.50. Some vendors offer a good discount to around USD$10.50 each for two or more.

That is one of the problems with some of them. The older ones are not as pungent but I find the ones that are still manufactured and available from India tend to smell more like new car tires than the pleasant rubbery smell.

Sorry you felt you had to toss it. With airing, the smell does tend to diminish over time. I would also double-bag the really smelly ones in ZIP-Lock bags. That works very well at keeping the odor contained as it works well for food.

I experienced hyperbaric oxygen therapy for a few times. Scott Pressur-Vak II BIBS masks with heavy metal regulator and hose were found in some old school chambers, while most modern chambers use light weight silicon anesthesia masks. The transparent silicon mask and tubing smell like plastic which make some people feel ill.

Very interesting, can you give more detail?

I like the look of them and should buy one. The green transparent ones are my favorite looking, and they need to have the plastic bag attached. The muffled voice combined with the feeling of vulnerability makes them arousing. I would enjoy both putting one on a patients head while also having one strapped around mine.
