I went to the my colo-rectal surgeon again this week as a followup to my visit two weeks ago. She is a rather pretty lady and most importantly, a caring Dr. This visit was for a banding procedure which meant for several minutes, I would be presenting the Dr and her assistant (also female) my ‘better side’ on what I call the tipping table. I was in the exam room by myself only a few minutes and I took a couple of pics with the phone. I was snapping one of the exam table and my arm was stretched w-a-y high when there was the quick knock and enter. I had to make the cam disappear in a hurry! (I will upload the pics from my phone to the photo gallery)
I was told to kneel on the pad on the side of the table and slip my pants and underwear down. I am never the kind of patient that tries to hide anything before lying over the table. I took my time to position my knees so that my legs were as far apart as I could make them with my pants still partially on. The Dr tipped the table so that I was pretty much looking at the floor and my rear was up in the air. Like the previous visit, this very nice and gentle doc told me what was going to happen before she did it. “I am going to take a look at the outside first.” The assistant was right at her side and I could never tell whose hand was where. I liked that aspect! So, somebody spread me v-e-r-y wide. The rush of cool air back there was exhilarating.
I was totally relaxed (if not rather turned on!) so most of all that followed thrilled and tingled. “I am going to put my finger inside.” Ahh, magic words! With someone still holding me opened, the Dr’s fingers slipped all the way in. This particular DRE was not rushed. I felt her wiggling her finger tip to completely exam and assess the entire surface in there within her finger’s reach.
“I am going to insert a small scope inside you. It will feel only slightly bigger than my finger.” The fact that I was total calm and relaxed made the insertion feel quite good. It was a lil cold going in and that made me shiver from the coolness and the feeling of it being pushed in filling me up. She moved it around a bit in up and down motions. I guess that was so she could visualize the whole area. The motion felt nice for the most part but there were a couple of seconds where it FELT like I had a metal thingie up my ass!
The banding itself was definitely a team effort. It was not particularly uncomfortable. I felt some pressure but that was about it. When she was done someone – probably the assistant – did a thorough job wiping away the lube.
The table was put back in its original position. The Dr asked me how I was doing and I said OK and thanked her for the ride. She didn’t seem to get my attempt at humor right away so I said, “You know. The ride on that table.” To that she said, “Yes. It is a very compromising position.” I rather liked that we ended the visit on that quote!
