Well who'd have thought

As some of you may know by now I am in hospital after a nasty accident. Been high as a kite on morphine and god knows what else. High volumes of opioids over a long period of time can lead to one thing....severe blockage.

Putting my embarrassment to the side, I've done it to enough people, called the sister in charge and told her I hadn't 'been' for 11 days. Suggestion....supps. Yep 2 glycerin and then if they don't work an enema. Brill...

So over I went, let the student nurse fondle my bottom as she figured out how to push it up inside. Then I heard the unwrapping of number 2. Over she came and pushed her finger up my poor little rose bud.

It's been 20 minutes and not even a twinge. Think an enema may be the next port of call.......SAVE ME!!!!

Glycerin suppositories can take more than 20 minutes to work. If you're that backed up, I'd use more than two glycerin suppositories, or maybe a bisacodyl suppository. Of course an enema is almost guaranteed to work but I kinda prefer suppositories.

Suppositories often take that long just to melt. Can't propagate through the lower bowel if it doesn't melt. Not unusual for them to take an hour or more to actually work.

Tis my thought that you've not heard of Hermann's Suppositories. Each are hand made & wrapped, contain the purest glycerin soap, and glycerin, and are as gentle as a lamb.

They ended up giving me phosphate enema 😢

With all that pain medicine a high volume enema is the only way to go. Next time refuse the suppositories and ask the doctor for an enema. Regular enema administration should be protocol for anyone on pain meds i think.
