Elsewhere I have read that some use cayenne as an enema solution for the purge benefits. Yesterday I had a spicy hamburger for lunch and some homemade chili for supper. This AM I had a hard time beginning my BM (had to strain to get started). Most of it was firm except for the last bit which was watery. After I finished, I had a burning sensation in my upper rectum/sigmoid colon. It took a few flushes with my shower spray hose to flush my recctum, but that stopped the burning. I didn't have time for a bag to work and I didn't want to drive the burn higher.
So I am wondering what caused the burn. The chili mix I used contained paprika, onion powder, cayenne, thyme and oregano for sure. I have heard that the cayenne in an enema will cause this burning? Does anyone have first hand knowledge? Was it maybe the chili powder?
Thanks,
Vicki
