To make your first enema go smoothly and feel great:
First: Use warm water at a temperature between 97 F and 110F. You will love the warm feeling of your belly as it fills.
Second: At first, keep the water volume small, i.e. between one pint and two quarts. With larger volumes you may have cramps. If you begin to feel discomfort, stop filling. Try for larger volumes as you gain experience.
Third: To start, keep the flow rate less than one cup in one minute. Hang the bag between six inches and a foot above the point of injection, your anus.
Fourth: Use only tap water with NO additives. The additives can come later and many of them can be found in the "Recipes" board on this site.
Fifth: Drug store bags are expensive. I only use those that I make myself like the one that is pictured in my avitar. The only item that I purchase is about six feet of 5/16 inch vinyl tubing. the gallon jugs come from the trash can! The hanger is a piece of string or wire.
Sixth: You asked, "How does it feel?" In a word, “wonderful.” An enema does not have to be painful. For the most part, everyone experiences it a little differently because there are many variables in an enema and no two people are the same. Take the time necessary to enjoy it and make all the stops along the way.
Some of the sensations that I experience are:
1. Preparation is filled with anticipation. You often fill with excitement as you fill the bag.
2. The insertion of the nozzle can be quite stimulating to the nerves of the anus.
3. The slow infusion of the water can be such that you can hardly feel it building in your colon until the last drop is in.
4. The water in your abdomen will give you a "full feeling" and the urge to expel it.
5. The expulsion phase gives you a release from that full feeling and replaces it with a feeling of lightness and sometimes euphoria. You may even have your sinuses drain so your head clears. If you get a hangover, an enema may clear it and make you feel fine.
Beyond all of this, the rest is up to you. Read what has been written of the subject and then take that knowledge and experiment. This site is a good place to start. Then go to the library and continue your search. Also remember, "It's an enema and not a race!" Take time to enjoy each one that you inject from this day forward.
Enemas are a kink to some but a great pleasure to many. I hope you join the many.
Remember that, an enema a day keeps the doctor away!
I might add, “An enema a day keeps the doctor away.”
